Parts ordered. More to follow once I get them installed in the next week or so.

Ok, somebody throw me a bone here. I am trying to get the old bushing separated, and it just isn't happening.

Very interesting, mine just kind of fell off once the bolts were removed. Try some wd40 soaking and then prying with a flat head screwdriver between the mount and the bottom bushings. Maybe some hammering on the flathead screwdriver to wedge it in between if it comes to that.

I'll try it tomorrow. I was seriously prying, but I didn't try the WD40 yet.

PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench will do better penetrating than WD40.

WD40 is not working; do I just need to cut off the ring that attaches the center bushing? I've pried that thing with everything short of a crowbar after a complete soaking of WD40.

I put a cut into the end of each and they popped right off. Mine were acting like they were pressed on. I wish I had just cut them off in the first place.

I'll post my results after I get the car out of the garage for a drive.

These are on my 1GA Talon and I used them to get rid of the "wub-wub" sound these cars make when your factory bushings are shot and greatly reduced a clunking sound I was getting while shifting. Can't comment on any added NVH since my car is pretty damn noisy as it is.

kpluiten - Your bushings may not be worn enough to notice the difference these make but add another 10 years and MANY more miles to your car like a typical DSM has and you'll know why these are made.

It's laughable that you think a stack of washers is going to do what these bushings do...

it's laughable that you paid $35 for these. But then again, it's not hard to separate an idiot from his money.

Also, a DSM is a pile of ****. Plain and simple. Subaru's aren't much better, but the point is they are very different platforms with different weaknesses and failure modes. Because these works on your POS does not mean they will do a damn thing for my POS.

A stack of washers might have been an bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. There is NOTHING to these parts and you are getting raped on the price. Straight up raped. I promise you these do not cost more than $2 -$2.50 to manufacture. I could have a set done in under 30 minutes.

Also, that driveshaft in the picture is from a bugeye with over 150k miles in Arizona. That's a lot of drive time.

Grasping for straws there huh toots?

You can keep spewing bull**** around and I'll enjoy my quieter ride and money well spent. $35 may be a lot to you but not to everyone else...

Hey, 2 things; the first is that I pried and pried and pried with very large screwdrivers and other implements of destruction and had to lay a cut into each so they would come apart. The second...I put the tapered piece on top. Is that going to be a problem? That is what I get for listening to the internet for the install how-to.

I have them and the shifting is smoother and great at fast shifting.

To Torque Solutions

In the video at the 1:00 mark i installed the bushings the other way. The flat on the bottom and the rounded off to the frame. Is that bad? When i asked the seller, TIC i think, they said it shouldn't matter, is that true?

You know the best solution is to remove the driveshaft. Take to a driveshaft shop. Have them remove the middle CV and weld solid to make a single piece. Reinstall and enjoy the weight reduction plus the reduced slop.

Sorry had to make a smart ass answer.

^^^This^^^.

I had a one piece shaft made and it's 100 times better than these stupid pieces of ****. And most shops can make you one for well under 300 dollars. If you want a real improvement in feel, that is what you'll do. It also cut over 7 lbs of rotational mass from my drive train. The car doesn't surge or kick when decelerating or transitioning on and off the gas.

How did you end up getting them off, what was your process? Everyone says they just fall apart and I tried prying for over 45 mins with no success. Amy help or advice is appreciated!!!
