Time to go shopping..! There probably isn't anywhere in town to get good parts from, right?? ... Gotta put in a call to Summit and see what they can set me up with... Need a new vehicle, the old parts on this truck keep wearing out-- it's a pain to try to mod it when you have to maintain it...!!!

They stated at the SEMA 2002 Auto Show that we would not be getting the J-spec version (even though the EVO on display was a J-spec). The version we are getting will only have about 245-265 HP, Different IC, Different Turbo, more cats, and a more restrictive exhaust.
Scott
I also heard that is will be here in the US in September - January. So we should (I hope) see it around that time.

Thanks for the info---- I hope they don't mess with the turbo... Just a little bit of detuning, a more restrictive exhaust system, and i'd be happy.. whatever they have on paper can still be undone and fixed. Exhaust, no problem, detuning, someone'll figure that out... as long as they don't change the internals I'll be happy... I'm going down there tomorrow hopefully to talk to someone about the VII, good to hear you're looking at them too

Anyway.... Haven't made it to the Mitsu dealer today, work and school *sigh* Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance, I've only been following the Evo since V, so you're a couple steps ahead of me. I'll let you know what I find out.....

That was hilarious....yeah it was off topic, but hilarious nonetheless. I can appreciate it even more since I drive a Honda Civic....but my exhaust does not quite sound like that.

No joke, but my GTI VR6 sounded just like that when I had it.

Actually, they got the sound from the 200mph twin-turbo VR6, albeit, really bad recording.

Default Evo VII update... :

Alright, finally made it to Mitsu... Suprise, no one knew what I was talking about-- I had to keep asking higher ranked people, finally got one guy who said that all he knew was that it was still a little ways off, and that it would be a turbo AWD, that's about all the info he was giving out--- He did say I could give one of the salesmen my info and he would give me a call as soon as they heard something--- I told him I would probably just be back pretty soon.... he said that it seemed like younger people knew more about it then anyone at Mitsu did, (fill in a couple of "duh" comments here)... So far though no real info, they know it's coming but don't know anything else about it. The first thing they said wasn't "we won't have them", so that's pretty positive...

I actually saw my Physics teacher there..!! I couldn't believe it... I said hey, what's up... he kinda looked away... I guess I haven't been to class enough..???

One of the mechanics at Mitsubishi told me that they were slated to get ONE Evo, and that was it. They will probably keep that one around to sell the other ones that they might eventually get.

I think they will probably be very hard to come by when they first come out, so be prepared for a wait.

Thumbs up Rabid horses... haha

Thanks for posting that article-- gives me something to read and check over in print.... I'm going to have to find a dealer somewhere (even if it means going out of state.. hmm...) That will have the evo in April; that's when I'd like to have it secured.. Gives me a year to save up a down payment and plan a trip to pick it up, plus get vacation from work. Something tells me the dealer up here will probably mark up the price kinda like ford did with their thunderbirds up here (don't ask me how I know!, they added $4000 i think?) Mitsu will probably be more mature about it... I can understand them being tight lipped though, if everyone knew about it now, there'd be a rush later that they wouldn't be able to take care of... I'm going to look into other dealers though..

You can bet that I'll be one of the first people through the door once they get the Evo, I guess I'll be the second on the list now... Sti comes out about the same time right... 2003 model? ... Gotta love the 6 speed......

My name is Boyce and I will be more than happy to help you with your purchase. "
