Default Totsubo license plate mount

Hi guys I'm currently a new owner of a DGM 13 wrx hatch and my dealer did not drill the holes into the bumper for me. Currently I have the front plates hanging out in my right side windshield. I have tried ordering the totsubo's off southcoast but have been unable to accept my payment I have also tried calling them. Does anyone have an extra set for sale ?

I dont understand the stigma against drilling 2 holes next to two pre-existing holes to mount a permanent fixture to the car.

I've never had a front plate on any of my vehicles.

Have you be just renewing your old Green Numbered plate? If not, and you have a Red Number plate then you've been driving around illegally. Congrats.

I do have a red plate, and yes, I've been driving around "illegally" I haven't gotten stopped for it yet though. When I do get stopped, I'll gladly put one on. I was thinking about getting a grimmspeed bracket and doing it anyways.

I had to call southcoast and I think it wasn't the first number I found that worked.

Also I had to remove a few threads from the bumper mount screws so it wouldn't squeak constantly.

this.

there's a hideous, gigantic bumpout on the front bumper for a front license plate, and you're concerned about 2 holes that will be covered?

it's along the same lines of the people who buy a "license plate delete" and a plate relocation kit. Do you really think your car looks better with a black plate in the center of your car, and a license plate that's flimsy, low, and offset from where it looks most natural? the front bumper on subies has a bumpout for a license plate. Put it there.

I actually just bought that yesterday from pro spec in Quincy. I haven't gotten pulled yet but I live in Malden so the local police officers are pretty "chill" it's the state troopers that scare me

Hmmmm, I think I might save myself some money and do what you did. When the screws go through the white clip they become tighter, right?

Any issues with that set up so far? I'll prolly put some foam strips behind my plate so it doesn't scratch the bumper.

Right, it tightens up and is solid. It has been mounted like this for a few months now and is still tight as day 1. Instead of foam strips, consider double sided tape, same effect with the addition of a little adhesion

Found another place that says they carry the Totsubo plates.

I'm probably sticking with the Grimspeed since I think I'm eventually gonna go with a FMIC

Why does a 28,000+ dollar car not come with the proper hardware to make it street legal???!!!???

My plates are just hanging out in the house till I figure out how I'll be installing them.

RR - I am liking that custom install

Put screws through the holes in the plate so they grab bumper.
