I just want to know what you feel the long block is good to. I know you only built me the short block but know the heads are very nice and flow well!

Thanks Dom for your input on this!

Hey guys,

This is totally unrelated and a diversion from this thread, sorry Chris but I know you like Angel's work and he's a big proponent of Killer B products! I was in Angel Ortiz's shop (HP Techs) yesterday. Angel worked on my XTI's latest motor build, he is a Subaru guy at heart but works on some rowdy cars. I've been meaning to take a few photos of a couple of the unique projects they have going on. So here they are.

Datsun 1200 drag car with Rotary power plant. This car is getting a new rear wing and a new 3 rotor motor. With its last motor it ran 7.60's

Honda CRZ. I know, I know....but this one is a one off and will be kind of crazy! The owner is the local Honda distributor and he wanted to turn the wick up on his hybrid Honda. Angel's building the 1.5L motor and is doing a custom sleeved block, custom CP billet pistons, custom Carillo rods and custom crank. The PnP'd heads will sport custom cams. Pretty much all of it is one off stuff as there isn't any parts for this car/ motor. The motor will have a Garret GTX30 pumping it up! Angel thinks they should see 400WHP! Combine that with the electric motor's torque and it will be pretty interesting to say the least!

Again sorry Chris for the thread jack here but I wanted to share this stuff!

Injectors are swapped out, Juniors revised tune is flashed in and compression is solid, it idles perfectly and AFRs are right where they should be! We used absolutely no oil during Juniors dyno tuning session. If things are dry this weekend I will do some pulls with the XTI and send data logs to Junior to see where we go with it. I will report back with how it feels after some road tests!

Well I got the XTI out for some road time today. 33 degrees, sunny and dry roads. It feels very strong and seems to be running well. AFR's look to be right where they should be but I was unable to record any data on either a 3rd or 4th gear pull. The damn Access Port cuts out when doing any pull while logging.

Junior mentioned to me that I should send it back to Cobb for a retrofit of the USB connector and a new cable. I will look into this but if anyone has any info could you please chime in here?

The other thing I saw today on the E85 tune with the colder 33 degree weather was 28.6 psi maximum boost. I was not logging but the AP recorded that as max boost! I think with the denser cold air here in Detroit I saw this additional 2+ psi of boost over the 26 psi map.

Thanks! Yea it freaked me out some seeing that boost level. The car loved the colder air for sure! I will get some in car speedo vids but can't remember if I have my gopro with me.

I just did another firmware upgrade on the AP last night so I'll see if that allows me to log some data today.

OK, I got some good logs yesterday and today! They were all a bit short pulls though, especially 4th gear. I can't find anywhere around here that I can run it out to 140. That and the cars is idling well and driving pretty well at slower speeds. I say pretty well because the fricking thing is so hyper that it's not that easy to drive slowly.

I told Junior today that I almost can't wait to switch it over to pump gas cause it kind of scares me and it's gonna get me in trouble and I want to see what kind of gas mileage it's going to get. He laughed at me

Here's some more detail from the logs I've run the last couple days.

Everything is solid and I still have not used a drop of oil from the 3.5 hour dyno tuning session, plus 4 tanks of E85 and all the pulls from the last few days!!

I sent Junior 5 logs tonight and we'll see what he comes back with. On one pull yesterday I saw 28 psi by 3640 rpm in 4th gear! Today another log 3rd gear showed 11 psi of boost at 3500 and then 23 psi at 4000 and it's holding 26-27 psi out to almost 7000 in 3rd gear at almost 110 mph, which has been as far as I can take it because I'm running out of room

I really think you should start your own thread. You're turning a header testing into a thread about your build. I'm super stoked that you like your engine, but I think your own thread would do you (and us) better justice.

No worries on the call, I'm out west in the San Juan's this week visiting some good friends and backcountry skiing after working a show in SLC! We're getting some good pow now up higher elevations but a little higher avi conditions. I got that frickin head cold.....at the show so dealing with that as well....arrgghh It makes the climbing at 11000+' even harder!

Here's a video of my car with the Killer B Holy header. I've got a cutout on my car but you can certainly get a sense of how this header sounds and performs.

I recently did that and am happy with results. The ap responds quite a bit quicker now. Cobb has very good customer service.

In regards to logging have you tried decreasing the number of parameters?
