Sure, why not. Call 1 877 GO BORLA to see if it effects the warranty as its damn easy to tell if someone takes off header wrap. I didn't wrap mine and don't notice blazing heat coming off of them, but to each his own. Other than some expected corrosion at the flanges, they still look nice though not as blingy as day one after 2 years of use.

If wrapping them voids the warranty, my bet is that coating them would void it as well.

You could try either a manifold blanket, though it may not fit perfectly, or use clamp-on heat shield (Thermo-tec sells both).

i just learned that heat wrap on a header/exhaust manifold gives the risk of FIRE if you have an oil leak. just so ya know... id get them jethot coated instead

I actually just read the same thing.....and as far as im concerned....its defenitly not worth wrapping them.....I seriously dont think that i will gain that much by wrapping them....id rather not have a chance of my car catching fire

Well I even know when u purchase the wrap they say on the packaging not to use if you have andy leaks in like big bold letters so im sure there have been a good amount......and even someone on this forum it happened too...so thats enough of a reason why not to wrap it to me

Well I was a big supporter of jethot until this year where they took 5 weeks and lied about delays on coating my UR up pipe external setup. So I just started using thermotec wrap and coatings. Yes jethot is excellent but I don't deal with people who lie. My current dp is coated and has no rust and insulated heat incredibly well. But after using thermotec with coating I am impressed and it's alot cheaper.

I had an issue with some work I had Jet Hot do for me in 2004, but they were really good about getting it sorted out.

So I was willing to use them again this year when I wanted to get my stealthback coated. Quick turnaround time, very good work.

I wouldn't write them off due to one person's bad experience.

Your right no one should make a decision on one person's experience but I don't like lies tell me what the issue is and I will understand. I have had quite a few things jethot coated. But now using the thermotec paint in conjunction with their wrap I am very impressed. Anyone care to see the pics do a search under "v8killer2pt5sti" on iwsti.com

Wrapping will keep the heat in better proven by this thread:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=773980

The only thing is the Borla is 304 stainless so the wrap may harm the metal. If it was 321 (better for high heat) then you'd be fine.

If you do wrap, make sure you seal it or wrap it with foil.

I vote for coating AND wrapping.

I wrapped mine with DEI header wrap, and a year an a half later it has all crumbled off.

I would go with SwainTech for coating, family experience, and they probably have a faster turn around than Jet Hot.

Wrapping does become fragile over time. Thats why I use foil. Last much longer.
