I didnt enjoy my HP+ Pads, I ran EBC yellows then switched over to the HP+ pads and found a decrease in braking performance. I DD/ Auto-X the car and Found I couldnt get enough heat into the HP+ pads to make them perform at the same level as the EBC yellow pads.

This is exactly what I do. I dab the brakes several times as I'm pulling out in the mornings, and make sure I brake earlier than needed the first few times. I find that the brake feel and strength is good when warmed up. Overall it's a nice improvement, but too impractical on the street for every day use for me. I'll likely switch back to OEM stuff when these wear out as the gain is not worth the tradeoff in every day use for me.

According to EBC the bed in length is totally worth it but I require instant gratification. I also have horrible planning skills and only got my pads a few days before my first track day and therefore wouldn't have had time to bed them properly. Other useful bed in notes can be found on stoptechs website: http://www.stoptech.com/technical-su...and-procedures And a host of other useful info from stoptech here: http://www.stoptech.com/technical-su...l-white-papers I've personally never used stoptech products but their resources are great. The initial bite feel for me is very important. As someone that doesn't use a brake booster, the change from HPS to HP+ was drastic and that alone was enough reason for me to not switch back to HPS pads for my DD duty. Hawk is easy to get and reasonably priced so I will probably stick with them. Either way, I think I want to try the DTC-30 pads (which dale's can get?) when I do my next track day. I got the HP+ to fade fairly quickly but the drop off wasn't drastic like OEM or HPS pads. I was still able to stop, just had to really stomp on it. Not sure if I'm being helpful or cluttering up the dale's parts of the week discussion thread... |
