Man i've delt with over 30 overheated cars with blown head gaskets as the result and never once could I tell from the outside if it was overheated. The t belt covers never deform. The crack around the spark plug hole would be from high cylinder temps combined with a defective casting and maybe a little of overtightening of the spark plug.
