Default Summer tires for 2011 - looking ahead

I'm starting to look ahead for my next set of summer performance tires.

I have the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs. I had them on for two seasons as a daily driver and used them as well for the occasional weekend auto-x event.

The tires are more-or-less at the end of their life, which is what I expected by keeping them on for two seasons from spring through fall.

At the last auto-x event of the season, I and a friend used my car and so it saw double-duty that day. At the end of the event, one tire had a cut-and-peel-back as if it were starting to delaminate. Another tire had several lateral cracks in the center tread. I have seen another person post a similar happening to his Star Spec tires in that they began to delaminate.

This is exactly what I don't need if the tire is going to be used for daily driving and the occasional auto-x event.

I need a high performance summer tire that has some wet traction as well as for quick heating for auto-x. I fully understand that there is always a compromise, but delamination is not one of them.

Thanks.
