Post anyone know how to fix the MRT header CE light?

I got them on two days ago and about 250 miles into having them I got a CE light. I am trying a reset of the ECU now but I do not think that will solve it. Anyone fixed this yet aor know if tit is a heat issue or O2 sensor?

Thanks,
Scootr

Based on where you're living, I'd say it's not a heat issue. This is unfortunate, as I'd hoped it was just a heat issue like the Borlas. What year car? Do/did you have the O2 sensor recall?

One of the guys involved in the MRT group buy had a CE light, he waited about a week and it went away. His theory was that the CE light came on from all the crap on the new exhaust burning off and getting on the O2 sensor, and then burning off the O2 sensor. So give it a week or two, see if it goes away. If it doesn't, maybe the crap (paint, anti-rust oil, etc.) has fouled an O2 sensor and you may need to replace one. You can see more at http://www.i-club.com/cgi-bin/ubb6/u...&f=16&t=000197 (page 9) The guy who experienced the CE light problem's name was Martin V

I am out in lafayette. Its a heat issue. You need to heat coat the header. The o2 sensor can't stay hot enough. The good thing is this gives you more power. Once that ce light goes off, and the engine is utilizing that o2, the power drops. or if you leave it, there is no o2 and you will be running rich with a ce light on. I coated mine. Ill add more fuel later.

Yeah, except where in CA is it cold enough this time of year for the temperature to be an issue? The Borla guys were mostly back-easters having trouble through the winter. If it is still an issue in CA in the summer!...

I had planned on getting mine coated in any case (as I'll be going to where it's not always warm and sunny); maybe there's another reason for the CE light?

Slide, did you cut off the cat before you got it coated? How'd you reattach it?
