So this Supposidly the new STI. Does it not look just like a new Impreza with a hood scoop and a spoiler???

Pretty sure it's just a mule for the new engine and drivetrain

So why "camoflage" the body and put a spoiler on it?

They always camo new cars.... Not sure about the dumb spoiler.

Look up photos of the last redesign...they were camo and didn't look like the final product

Actually that looks like a photoshopped up photo in the first place, probably not a real car out there. Someone just MS-painted some crap on it.

And yes, the new wrx/sti will look just like a current 2013 impreza but with a spoiler and hood scoop (maybe. the forester didn't get one...). That's what every wrx/STi is tho. Just a driveline upgrade and some body-kitting. Why does the media/everyone else seem think its gonna be some all-new model...
It'll even be back to a 2.0L. Not that subaru can't build some nice 2.0's. Course everyone will be pissed when they can't just bolt on all the typical aftermarket upgrades already out there from the ej205/255/257's, etc. Its tough when the Lego-car-company switches to megablocks...

(Dumb spoiler? looks just like the current gen one pretty much to me... Not like imprezas have had a decent rear spoiler since the GC wrx's.)

Subaru even claims it will be further apart from the current impreza this generation....

I honestly like very few of the spoilers on cars past or present.

I can only imagine what the News and Rumors thread looks like.

EDIT: Pretty much what I thought it would. I'm never buying a Subaru again/It's 2008 all over again/I have the last good WRX/STi/X gen was the best gen/It's the end of Subaru....

You know, i may have been a bit hasty. I take some of it back.
The last gen impreza sedans did look like a corolla with a hood scoop.

The new ones just look like a Mugen Civic Si w/ a hood scoop...

At least Subaru is copying quality car companies.. They haven't made a new gen Legacy identical to the Ford Focus.... yet...
(and if only the non-turbo impreza would come with something as sweet as the K24 they're stuffing in Civics these days.)

I'm with ya there. I like the 04-05 wrx/sti the most. Then the bugeyes. Never really was too partial for the 06-07s though. The newer ones are nice and fancy and all, but just to big for my taste.

Aside from subaru, it's ef crx/civics FTW!!! Haha. Crx mostly though. By far my favorite. Not exactly sure why though. Hmmmm.... lol

Not a big fan of most Hondas.... Decent cars but never anything special and always bought by 100 yr old ladies and flat brimmed morons who decide a huge supra wing and 12" exhaust will make it crazy fast.

S2000 and nsx would be exceptions.

Especially the normal drivers of those cars.... I mean I know a few decent guys but it's like mustang or srt4 neons.

Don't get me wrong an EG6 with a k20 swap would be fun but no more than a mk1 gti with a 1.8t. And the vw looks better.

The problem is the k20ed EG would run forever, and the VW, especially with a custom wired swap & and modern VW motor, would never run for more than a month...

VW/Audi does make good looking cars, but they still need to work on modern wiring...

...and speaking of swaps: someone find me a buyer for my STi so I can proceed with my next super-secret plans.

Sadly my honda list would be longer than my vw list. I dont mind integras or the rsx, and then the s2000 and nsx are no brainers. The only VW I would drive would be the new scirocco or an older R32 golf.

I agree vw needs an electrical engineer as bad as dodge needs automatic transmissions, however there are very few Hondas that really excite you or look good.

RSX and integra are decent but especially the integra, you have 1000 to 1 riced out gay looking to clean ratio. It's all about the affordability with dumb kids getting them.

I'm sure my car just like the wrx will have all kinds of f'd up cars because of retarded kids.

Just look at what happened to josh's wrx or that sweet blue headlight purple ghost painted 02 that phil meador had a yr or two back.

No, you're safe. See the FWD civic's are safe enuf cause they can't get to crazy drivin em hard. simply won't happen, just understeer into a curb. And while the affordable wrx market has no hit the poor ricerboy culture, the awd generally keeps them safer. Even still, they manage to create some pretty impressive accidents.
But rwd... that will take care of the stupid kids. I mean just look at the state of the average 240 you see around. Halfway to something you'd find in a junkard. Any stupid ricer teen wanna-be drifter will pile his new frs/brz into a wall or over a cliff (even better) so fast it'll be ridiculous. Heck, you should see the dent they've made in the s2000 supply already. Half are for sale in wrecker yards, the rest all have rebuilt/salvage titles. Its sad.

Ok, thats not too bad. From your description, i envisioned a full vinyl-wrap, matte red car or some s%$^... I'm not keen on red, but not horrible. Looked better under Josh's care.

and yes, i love me some ATE brake fluid. Pretty much have to keep Typ200 in stock. (just don't care for bleeding with the blue stuff. prefer clear.) For the price, its a great step up over generally avail auto-store stuff, but doesn't have quite the cost increase of the high-end brands, that cost 2x as much or more and offer no real increase in numbers.
