The Texas High Speed Shoot Out. / The Texas Mile
Hi Guys, the Texas Mile High Speed Shootout is back and they are Subbie friendly.
This is the event that got me into Hotrod Magazine. Some of you may not be intrested in going 1 mile in a straight line as fast as you can but I will say it is a RUSH so don't flame it unless you have tried it. They tech in your car, you have to have some driving skills behind you, an SCCA card will do or some driving school. You get 4 or 5 runs per day all well above 125+ I'm going for 145mph this year tuned on c16. It would be cool to see some Subbies show up, some of us plan on spending the night Friday ( light party ) Drive Saturday (light party again) and drive Sunday. It will be a cool deal. Plus you can go to work and hang your plaque on the wall of just how fast you drove. The surface is very flat and smooth. Bragging rights are huge around the water cooler. I promise it's one of the coolest events I have ever done. You do not have to work in between runs / heats. Here is the website. They are rebuilding it this week. www.texasmile.com The TEXAS MILE is back ! Welcome Street Cars/Bikes Welcome Land Speed Racers Three Event Series in 2004 Goliad Industrial Air Park, Texas May 21-23, 2004 July 30- August 1, 2004 October 8-10, 2004 Price for the event is around $135.00 for the weekend. It's worth every dime. e-mail me back and I will work on some group deals on Hotels and event stuff. [email protected] Mod, can this be a sticky for awhile?

I talked to the gal in Goliad yesterday. She was very pleased that so many Subaru owners have shown interest.
She also mentioned that they may be judging models for the series on Friday. So.... You may get a chance to judge babes, yet another reason to show up on Friday. Personally, I was pushing for a bikini car wash. This sounds like it's going to be a blast. |
