Putting the piping in this weekend. I alos had to buy the reducer but got if off ebay for $11 bucks. For the price $425 shipped you can't beat this kit. Rip on it all you want it is a very good and well designed kit! Couldn't be happier.

+1. My kit came in today and I need some tips for cutting.

I installed a A/W FMIC on a friends car and we use a dremel. It melted the bumper pretty good and made a terribly jagged uneven cut. This has to be perfect to be on my car.

there is nothing wrong with new companies offering competitive prices, imitation or not.

this affords a vast majority to be much more involved in the industry and culture of the aftermarket.
i first got into hondas roughly 6-7 years ago. it cost me almost $6000 alone to get a custom kit made for me by rpmnyc for my 96 h22a accord. i could do the same kit today off the shelf for about $3000.

i think i'll be purchasing one of these kits for my car as well.

You're describing a non-existant loophole, dude. Move on... Honestly, take the ten seconds to think about what you're writing. It makes no sense.

TO get the center out I used a hauck saw blade and slide a hose over the end to mak it easier to hold on to. Once the center was cut out I measured back 1" all along the bottom of the bumper and cut that out with a sheetmetal shear. Looks like a heady duty side cutter. Then put the bumper on and see where you need to trim. It takes a lot of time and patience but it will pay off in the end. Make sure you don't end up with to much of a gap on the bottom or the air will be more likly to go around the intercooler instead of threw it. Hope this helps, If you have any more questions ask.

Hot blade.. Heat it up with a blowtorch (worked with way too much of cutting plastic bodies (RC cars)

Ditto.

I installed the piping last night and am going to cut today.

How did you guys handle the side of the bumper? What I mean is, did you leave that knotch left over from the top black piece or did you taper the cut so it wasn't noticeable? No one shows up close pics of their cuts but it would help.

I've had the kit installed now for about three months now with ZERO problems. Works very well, fits very well. Couldn't find a single complaint about the kit honestly.

and it looks great in black.

I just uploaded the last of the pics and a few text files with my impressions, etc. The kit is really nice. You'll need a few odds and ends to finish.

You can see where I cut in the pictures, but if someone wants to take some pics of an uncut bumper, I can photoshop some cut lines on it to help out. I didn't really take any pics before I started cutting. I think I did ok on the center part, but I did cut out way more than I needed in the foglight area. It was hard to tell how it was going to fit exactly until I started cutting so I could test fit it.

There are pics of it, reassembly1 & 2, but I cut out more than needed. Again, if someone wants to take pics of an uncut bumper and email or PM them to me I'll photoshop some cut lines on them.

one thing different about this kit and the turbo xs one is that this one you need to remove your fogs and i believe with the turbo xs FMIC you get to keep your fog lights

I think the piping is the same on this and the TXS, so the foglight issue should be the same. I'd guess you can keep them. I don't have fogs so I don't know for sure. I did have to cut into the duct stuff behind the corner covers on my STI, but the piping doesn't invade the space much.

New pics and videos uploaded, same URL.

edit:
SSAutochrome has three of these kits on ebay now starting at a penny, but expensive shipping.

You can keep your fogs.

Please, everyone read the first part half of the this thread. FIRST PART OF THIS THREAD (WITH PICTURES, GUIDE, AND FEEDBACK)

I finished installing mine today. It took me a LOOOOOONG time to get the bumper to fit. Most of the delay was because I kept cuttin in about .5cm at a time to insure I didn't overcut. If I had a stencile, it would take about 2 hours to cut. I can make one for the bugeye people if someone wants it. That would at least save someone else the 5+ hours it took me (I worked through the night so that might have something to do with it).

I've got the pics on my camera and will update soon. And btw, I went from stock WRX TMIC to this and the top end is MUCH better. My maf went from 4.4v peak to 4.5v and at an earlier rpm. X100

Also, the where does that one IC pipe support go? I saw it in the box but didn't know where to install it, so I just let it be. I think it goes under the cold pipe, right where the old airbox was.

I have it supporting the intake. I screwed it into the front of the two large bolts that hold the lower stock airbox. The hole is right next to the ABS module in the framerail.

You can see it here:
http://freon.shackspace.com/car/fmic/running2.jpg
Right behind the ABS module and holding up the intake right at the MAF.

are the real turboxs fmics made in china too? I wouldn't be suprised if the fmics are made at the same factory, from the same supplier.
