Evo III 16g good on 2.5??
Basically what the title says. Is the E3 16 good on the 2.5?? I was looking at the ones from FP. I can also get a pretty good price on a VF34, how would one of those do on the 2.5? Im not looking for a lot of power, but I want a good upper end. I have only ever seen these turbos localy on 2.0s and they rock.
How would the 16g or VF34 compare to a VF39/43?

Me, I think it's a reasonable upgrade, though many members would agree that 18g/20g is more reasonable.
If I were to get the evo3 16g, get the 8cm hotside. |

I think its a perfect turbo for the 2.0l for a daily driver, used to run one myself. I would bet that it would taper a bit on the topend on a 2.5l. Its a great turbo, but i would say 18-20g for the 2.5L
If its between the VF-34 and the 16g, I'd go Evo316g all the way |

both are mild upgrades over the vf39/43. most will agree that all 4 turbos mentioned are too small for the 2.5 (evidenced by boost tapering to redline). if all you want is 300/300, then the vf39 is your best choice for bang for the buck. the vf34 flows slightly more than the vf39/43, but you have to take into consideration price vs output.
for $100 more, look at the 18g with a 8cm hotside instead of the 16g. a lot of people agree that the 20g 8cm is 'the' stock location turbo for our 2.5s but that all depends on what you want out of the car. |

They'd be improvements over the stock turbo but not much improvement and not worth the effort.
