Default Infiniti to Unveil new Sports Sedan at Detroit Auto Show

Quote:
Today at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show, Infiniti announced that an all new sports sedan will be shown off at the upcoming North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

With recent updates to the BMW 3-series and the introduction of the Cadillac ATS, the Infiniti G has been upstaged, so it is possible that the car Infiniti is talking about is the new G. It seems likely, since the last time the G sedan was updated was back in 2009 as a refresh of the 2006 G35.
Thanks to a recent partnership with Mercedes-Benz, it is possible that the new Infiniti will sport a powerplant from the German automaker. Europeans can also expect a diesel model to head their way as well.
The new G sedan is expected to show off new styling cues sourced from the now dead Emerg-E concept car.

Another bloated G variant?
No thanks

I did testdrive the G37 back 2 years ago. Really unimpressed. Car felt big and boring. IS350 felt small (which was good) and boring. 335i hit the spot (except for the xdrive suspension)

Here is the news on this.

This car will be called the Infinity G20.

The car will come with a 4 cylinder turbo motor making 250-270 HP.

This is the only car that was on my 'should I hold off and wait to see what comes out before I buy a new car' radar.

In the end, I could not wait and bought a Golf R. However, I liked the G37S in so far as a total package kind of car. RWD, Manual, great engine, etc. The recipe was there, even if it was mixed in the wrong amounts.

I knew a new G sedan was coming out. I hope it is a home run.

Crap, I haven't been around here much lately. When did you get the R?
