Default Its possibly totalled

Well Judah my brother took my wagon to mid town auto body today. From the quote, which is fair since I know exactly what's got to be done, I cant afford the repair bill...roughly 4-5k to straighten the thing out, line up body panels, and paint. Im actually more heart broken over this then letting my Buick go...I may part this out depending on what I find. Anyone want a good strong running wagon for winter, its already beaten up so you wouldn't have to care about the body. Im talking like 800 - 1k to take it away if intersted. here are pics of this. Its got a new black primer hood, and fender, and a 2000 RS bumper skin on it now, but hte bumper skin doesnt quite sit right. These were taken in january, before we went to Teddys to do the bumper swap. Waiting on other quotes from a few other places...anyone got any other suggestions for body people? Ill get pics up of what it looks like at the moment later.

sure thing pete, gabe, no its not the painting part...its straightening the actual frame out...its crumpled a good 4-5" behind the headlight, and by the fender about 3/4" out. Teddy saw it, we tried to get the bumper beam out by prying it out, then hooking up to the probe and tried to rip it off, then with a suburban...wouldn't budge...its totally F***** on the passenger side behind the headlight. The bumper beam is all hacked up so we could fit the 2k RS skin to it....so idk

I had Raddys straiten my frame out when I wrecked the coupe. Kind of a shady place but they did it cheap. Then a MAACO paint job. Again shady but cheap.

god id love too.....but its too small. When ever we come into town we always have at least 1 other person, and with Jakes car seat its not practical otherwise id jump on that and turbo it. I just got cams, valves, springs for my 05+ turbo leggy heads too.....was gonna come in 3 weeks to do the turbo build.

I remember the paint was I think $850-900 and the frame was around a grand. If you can have your bro take it to him and get an est I'd do that. Its not perfect but good enough for daily driver

I've had Raddy's do some paint work for some odd ball parts for cheap. ya, kinda shady, but if you just need a temp fix or a decent fix, it may get you back on the road.

For now, what i want is just the darn frame straightened out so that all the body panels line up, and my headlight dont point 4 ft in front of me on the pass side....Thursday juds goin to bring it to Raddys and Alaska Body and Frame and see who has the best price, and if its under 1500 to get the body straightened, then ill do that and hold off on paint. Or go to a buddys house in Tok and use his shop and shoot it there in the summer. If nothing else...get the dang thing straightened. Thanks guys....wish me luck...its nasty, ill have kid or a buddy take pics...oh and having the hood close all the way would be a big plus...its only half shut..so on the hwy it picks up kinda.

dude gabe, I saw the damage when you were at my house, I would take it to MACCO(since its a 95) my buddy used to be the shop foreman there and honestly you get what you pay for. you can pay 500 for a crap paint job or you can pay 2k for a nice one. also the painter there(Kevin) does good work. but i don't know if the can straiten stuff. if i were you i would build your motor and drive that bad boy until you find something else and swap motors and sell the 95. just me .02

BTW, COME GET MY NOS KIT OUT OF MY GARAGE. I want my moosehead and I don't want to sell it to anyone else!!!lol

I will get it. I think ur right Teddy. Ill build the b**** and run the piss out of it. Ill see what Raddys and AK body and frame quote for straightening it out. Ill wait for paint if it gets fixed till I come in to build the block up. The nos kit will have to wait a little while, im waiting on more money.

What about a portapower? They are fairly inexpensive from AIH. Portable hydraulic rams can do a hell of a lot.

If you prep it before Macco does the work the paint will stick and last...I used to take beaters there. The problem is they don't prep the car properly before painting. On a cheap job they will simply scuff the old paint with a brilo pad then tape it and spray it, thats why the paint falls off later. They don't pull trim pieces off as well, just tape them.

If the paint guy is good and you sand and prime first you will be golden.
