rigger my brother's beater at a car meet tonight, it actually went well had a crowd of about 20 or more people watching and they all checked out the screen after the first shot and were all very amazed. Definitely worth doing to get a bit of a buzz for myself there. Also just walked around with the new battery grip and my giant 70-200 2.8 and had a bunch of people come up to ask about my camera gear haha good opportunity to hand out cards.

I kinda wish you'd panned a little to the left (not knowing what's over on the left of course). Maybe had the barn on the extreme right with a little room for the front of the car to breath.

Whatever though... Great shot!!

So.. I think I did this when I was drunk, cause I have no recollection of editing anything...
Found it on my flickr, when I was looking for another picture.
also: It's and old picture, I didn't drink and drive!

The angles on those shots hurt to look at. Keep your camera straight lol. Also, all the images have too much contrast and/or the blacks are too dark.

That light painted silver STI looks really nice. I love the lighting. Do you know what he uses for his light source?

DM is correct. the pan was at 1/30th. not super slow, but i added a touch more blur for that shot since it looked more awesomer.

i dont have the original uploaded, but this is the same corner (just a little more toward the entry, at the same speed (1/30th) with no post blur added. not bad on the motion, but i just wanted to blur out the spectators and such in the BG.

I was about to give exactly opposite advice lol I think it could use a couple steps back and a few to the right to put more space between the car and the barn and put them on the thirds, it just seems a touch unbalanced to me. That being said I love that shot overall CGuffin. Digging the tones and editing for sure.

Open admission I'm a huge fan of whitespace and minimalism in general.

Not cropped out as far, but similar idea. Busy backgrounds are usually just super distracting for me. Though I'm easily distracted in general

^ would have blacked out that shopping center/lighting in the BG... my eyes go there and off the car. with everything being so black, should have kept it uniform with whats going on behind the car.... darkness.
