Honestly. I have been waiting for them. My friend has them on his civic (yes i know, totally different car and performance requirements) and they are phenomenal. By his suggestion, i emailed the company wondering if they were making any others. They emailed back saying it would be out this year. Friday was their release day. I received mine today. I was the 1st person to purchase them and they hand delivered the item to me. I am serious. The head of marketing drove his BMW from Reno to the bay area to congratulate me on being there first person. Even brought me champagne, a hat, and a t-shirt to celebrate.
Ok, i still need to install them. Probably by next week. I'll post again with how they feel. BTW, i have a 07 wagon. |

i can take photos later, dont know where i would host them though. im planning on doing a review, but it would be my first one and I wouldnt know what to compare to or anything, so we'll see how that goes. The marketing guy wants me to be honest in it so i will. They say its been tested by rally drivers, and raceland has a huge following in europe.

$388 for a full set of coilovers with camber plates...this ought to be interesting. My camber plates alone cost twice that. I'm tempted to buy a set just to take them apart.

At that price point I give them a year before falling apart. Just can't make a quality product at that price point.

I know a bunch of vw guys with these. They are JUNK. The top hats seized due to low quality materials and the threads on the shock body rusted and seized as well. This was all within a year.

$388? I think I spent that much on just one Koni DA insert a few weeks ago.

I'd be interested to see how far you can RAISE them on a subaru. I'd buy them for a winter setup to give my Prodrives a break.

So far I heard a lot of PROS and CONS. of course it has its goods and weak spot. keep us updated! i really want to go lower..swift springs isn't low enough for my cup of tea..i want to find a set thats most cost effective with out costing me a arm and a leg..

Wow, that just shows you the possible profit margins on suspension pieces.

Doesn't really tell you anything about profit margins... do you know what they cost to make?
I have a feeling those are made with slim margins (betting on volume) out of junk material with loose tolerances. I guarantee they use all the same parts for every car, changing out the mounting tabs and the camber plates (but not bearings or mounts) for each application. Incidentally, cheap coilovers come with spherical mounts all the time because it's way cheaper than having a specific shock shaft and spring perch made for each application. EDIT: i'm going to start leaving this photo in all the threads discussing whether or not generic/rebranded/ extremely cheap coilovers are made well... http://imgur.com/O1bjG.jpg Last edited by sniper1rfa; 08-22-2010 at 08:57 PM. |

Im sure a lot of our items are made in china. I believe the most important part is the QC..QUALITY CONTROL. a lot of japanese items are made in china the only difference is that the JAPS checks their products before they ship it out to the consumers. I believe those are the extra money everybody pays for when we buy stance, tein, cusco etc.. Honestly i believe it cost 150-200$ to make coil overs but everybody wants a piece of the pie! so thats why it market up to the thousand range. SO, i'm hoping these people from raceland are a mom/pop shop that just hasn't got spoiled with all the $$$ and sell quality parts for reasonable price.

That's what the ceo told me. Its the hand offs that raise the price. But I don't know. We will see how they are once I install
