glare problem after jdm headlight mod (rhd to lhd)
I did the mod where you grind off the mask to level it off so there's no rising cutoff. However after I installed the headlights back onto my car, there is a heap of light above the actual cutoff beam. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the shiny metal exposed on the masking plate after you grind it off. I used a sharpie marker to fill in the shiny parts. Is that the problem here?

That could be. I sprayed the area I ground down with flat black, hi-temp paint and I don't remember any glare (I have the lights off of the car for right now). Stanton, the guy who wrote the post for this procedure on Scoobymods, mentioned a glare as well, though, so who knows?
Good luck. |
