Default Exhuast questions

Im slowly upgrading my WRX, and I need some advice/recommendations.

-I really dislike the look of those huge exhaust tips, especailly when they are tilted sideways, so I;m looking for something with either a more subtle single tip, or a twin.

So far I've looked a Cobb turboback, which is much more expensive then other turbobacks, from what i've seen.

Are there other good exhausts that dont have huge tips? Im a big function over form guy, but it drives me nuts to see those huge things dangling from underneath the car.

Suggestions?

I would recommend Borla if you're looking to spend a little less..

I do love my GReddy Ti-C

What makes the Cobb better than the rest, and worth the price?

Also, stupid question, but no tuning is required with uppipe, and turboback installed...correct?

While tuning is not required it is highly recomended. You really dont need it if you justchange out the up pipe but after that you really should look at doing it. My suggestion to you would be to go with the acess port first since it allows you to do alot even without a fully TBE. Plus when you do finally get your TBE your set. +1 for the Cobb exhaust as well. Its not so much as its better from the rest so much as what its going to do for you and what you are looking for. Like you said you like the look of the stock exhaust and this will do it for you. The main other difference will be that it opens up your system allowing it to flow better with less bends.

I'm a big fan of my Greddy Ti-C. It's the large cannister variety, but not as big as some of the other ones. It also exits the vehicle straight, not at some stupid angle like alot of the other ones (i hate that too!). It's loud, but not obnoxiously so. If you aren't into the big melon launchers I would say go with the Greddy Evo2. It looks closer to stock, is fairly quiet, great quality and reasonably priced. Heres a site that ran a bunch of tests on catbacks and has specs like dB at idle, price etc:

I was in the same predicament 2 months ago. I don't like to draw much attention but wanted stage 2. I researched every possible nasioc thread and youtube clip. Here's what my 2005 WRX Wagon ended up with. For the price, I couldn't be happier.

I say go with a DP and keep the stock CBE. That way you get a stock look, with power gains.
