Default Bad cat...Options?

I thing my cat is going out because i have a sulfur smell coming from my exhaust. How much will it cost to replace it and are there any mod/after market options where the cat is concerned? I would like to stay street legal.

Sometimes emission controls are warrantied longer than the rest of the vehicle. In that case, a new cat would be covered. If not, you can buy a replacement cat for ~100 to 200.

I believe that cats are covered under some extended warranty..probably mandated by the government.

I once replaced a broken cat with a cheapie from a muffler shop. I lost performance and swore I'd never go the cheapie route again.

Where do you get a replacement for $200? New? The Random Tech I bought threw a CEL a week after I got it. A bad front O2 sensor blew away any converting that cat was doing and I need a new cat before I go in for emissions.

I'm at 88,000 miles, BTW.
