Question Anyone know a good Machine shop in CT?

Just wondering if i could get some input on any reputable machine shops in CT. Preferably around the New Haven area. Looking to get some work done on some STI heads i just picked up. thanks in advance.

What do you need done? Porting? or just general repair.

Pretty much just general repair, possibly a light port. Or at least clean up the stock casting.

I always recommend Center Machine in Stratford, they did a great job with my Audi I5 rebuild many years ago, along with lots of smaller projects. Nice guys too, no BS or delays.

Yea, they do good work. When I worked at perkins subaru we sent all the heads there, and one of the other techs had his heads done at thunder they came out really good.

Does anyone know a roundabout price of what machine shops charge for normal headwork? I figured anywhere between $400-600 dollars. does that sound about right?

Another shop is Precision Machine in Simsbury. Apparently more than a few Subaru dealers use them for machine work.

Larry probably is the best around town for suby, but I really need to sit down and digest these ## and see how much does it really cost if I drop off the old block and have larry work his magic and install all new forged parts back in there, or if buying a EJ257 new & replace forged pistons is cheaper.

Anyone have any good words for anything around new haven?, I'm gonna check out thunder in the AM and see what kind of price they'd want to check out and clean up a ej25 block (glass beading I'm guessing how it's done?) a completely torn down p2 ej25 that had a #4 rod bearing go... (not too bad).. Definitely a hone, possibly a bore if nec..
