Default wrx seats in a '97 legacy gt

Here's a picture of the '02 wrx seats in my gt ... now if I could find floor mats to go with the seat fabric ...

IMHO ... these seats are very supportive and extremely comfortable and with a dark colored gt ...would go very well ....

however, they are higher than our legacy seats .... I'm 5'10" with shoes ... and have adequate head room ...

with a helmet on ... I may occasionally bump the head liner next to the sunroof ...

It does appear that one could switch the seat rails ... but I dont know if this would make a difference ...

Default yea

I had to pass on a set of these due to height issues. I'm 6'2" and I think with a sunroof I'd be out of luck, even without the helmet.
Looks good tho especially against the blue exterior.

Wow, that really does look good with the dark blue exterior. (Just a reminder, I hate you for having a dark blue GT - they didn't have that color when I bought the '99 new, and when I was looking for a replacement I snapped up the first 5-speed I found, which happened to be silver ).

There was a discussion about this swap a month or two ago. I did it just as a temporary thing for the Open Track Challenge. I'm around 5' 9-1/2" or so, and found I had to sit with the seat back reclined one or two clicks when I had my helmet on. With the stock seat I sit bolt upright, which I prefer.

Default Who you hate Pat?

Im getting the same car except a wagon on Friday. I had to search far and wide for it, then pay through the nose to get it. It should be delivered on Friday. That is the first car I have picked out specifically in a long time. I love that color, I like silver too, but man that blue is nice.

I am just curious, did you use the GT rail or the wrx seat rail?

I mean did you just pop the whole seat from wrx into a GT without modify?

subysouth,

thanks ... and ... there are some advantages to not being six feet tall ...

you do realize that if your new car is the same color as mine ... you get to join Pat's exclusive list ...

Pat,

gee, how could I forget ... ...

I had the seat back upright when I had my helmet on ... so think I'll be ok .... might bump a bit on some of the rallyx ... but dont expect that to be a problem ...

lgygt

.. used the wrx seat and rails and it bolts into the existing holes for the 97 gt ... the thing you'll need to change is the female seat belt on the seats .... simply switch with the ones off your current seats ...
