It is as the graph titles indicate. The 19psi HTA run was pump only, and the 23psi HTA was with Torco. The other 2.0L 18G runs were pump only, not including Torco.

The 2.5L runs (all of them) were without Torco.

Ah, Unabomber does not think that my data-logging of raw intake temps is very useful without A/F. I guess I might not be informed enough about what the intake temp reading vs. what the car does with this reading vs. the actual air charge temp. means in the grand scheme of things. I just know what I logged from my thread mentioned above and as Jeff pointed out this was something that can be corrected on the dyno but maybe not on the street? I just know that on the street, without the fog cover off, the intake seems to be really hot.

More testing to come. Maybe if I ask really nicely I can get Tim and Jeff to tune with different intakes since they are easy to swap out and do some "real" data logging on the street to see if there is carry over.

I would like the AEM to work. The general fit and finish of the product rocks.

this is something you decide... read this thread, and the other two and make your own decision.

What did you use to tune, Cobb AP? I didn't notice if you mentioned it.

Did you tune the engine load/ RPM/ MAP table? This is very different than the older years and has up to 20% correction at 2600-3200 RPM, slight vacuum range.

I have been playing with this table in my 08 with RomRaider and have made the hesitation better, but it is still there. I have stock injectors and intake BTW.

Not on the STI. But if the injectors have enough left, I would like an E85 map please!
Like to see that result.... thats my possible route, Im on E85 now with the VF but have ran a 20G also previously on the corn, be an 'interesting ' combo I feel

Good point! It's actually VERY responsive on the street, better than a TD05H 18G in my opinion.

Does the IAT sensor need to be insulated from the engine bay heat or something? Or is it picking up conduction from the metal AEM intake?

If the 2.0L is the Blue Wagon then this my car and its running a ssac fmic.

Its very responsive on the street and very deceptive on how much power it has. The power is so linear that you dont realize how fast the car is going and even at the top end it still wants to go on.

Wrapping the metal arm is certainly a possibility.

You got tuned just before me, so we met! I agree, the car feel like it has almost less torque do the nature of the power delivery. Very easy to drive thus far.

Well, it is done. Revised 92oct. tune and an E85 map as well. All will be posted with dyno graphs if I know Tim and Jeff and also this is not my thread!!

I want to "publicly" thank Tim for the tune last night. I got out of there after 9pm and Tim still had to close. We had fun seeing what this turbo can do on stock internals with 80 degree shop temps. The intercooler stayed just that throughout the tune so that is good news.

My new T-shirt will read: IloveE85.

Cheers!

I'm thinking exactly that; it looks like the HTA gets up to the spring pressure (or at least near) very quickly, and then the computer appears to use a less-aggressive boost climb. I bet if you either tuned that a little more aggressively, or used a better boost solenoid, it would spool much quicker.

Ok, think I got the graphs correct now.

Ok, here we go: Mod list: DW850, WB255pump, Perrin two-cat DP, Borla CB, AEM CAI, FP HTA68 turbo, colder plugs, Motul 10W-40, around 80 degree shop temp, foglight cover removed, no heat shield on the AEM. 2008 STI, stock internals hence the boost not over 22psi.

First is the tune with and without the catback. Nothing else was changed mechanically speaking between these two tunes. This is the Borla system.

This is 92 Octane full boost (S#) vs. E85 full boost (S#):

This is 92 Octane full boost (S#) vs. E85 low boost (S). Very cool since you can essentially make the same power with E85 with much less boost:

Here we have both maps for the E85 tune presented (S# and S):

Here we have lower boost setting for both fuel types (S:92 and S:E85):

The car remains highly drivable with the E85 tune. I can just putts around town in S# E85 and the car is, well, civil. This platform also delivers that power is a very predictable and drivable way when you get on it as well. Fun little chirps from the tires Anzen615s, too. I cannot comment on driving the 92 octane map yet since we rolled from one fuel type to the other without removing the car from the dyno. I will let Tim and/or Jeff comment on the technical side of things (what was found with +/- timing and boost tuning tuning, etc).

I am assuming that the HTA turbo has a 2.4" inlet? Is it possible to get a 3" inlet with this turbo? I have been kicking around the 20g idea for a while now and haven't made teh plung yet. The HTA beign as cheap as it is makes me think twice. I was going to go with either the TD05-7cm^2 EWG or the TD06-8cm^2 both coming with a 3"inlet. Now I am so confused....

Unless otherwise posted, all equipment on the 08sti is OEM (intake, TMIC, internals, headers, UP, pulleys, etc).

what you're asking, he can't answer.

FP doesn't offer this in a 3". so your answer is no.

all you can do now is compare and compare, keep on comparing, and choose whatever you can get the "better" price on etc.
