And the subie was the family's vehicle that was stolen...

We need leads on our mother's homicide that happened Friday, October 5th, 2012 in Hercules, California around 10pm. She was supposed to pick up our Dad from the airport that evening, but never showed up. Worried that something might have happened, my Dad called our neighbor to check on her. They found her inside the house, already deceased. The family car was missing from the garage, and still has not been located.

Car Model: 2011 Subaru Outback
Color: Sky Blue
Idaho License Plate: 1A1F680

Police have given guidance that if you do see a sky blue Subaru Outback, follow the car to confirm the licence plate so we can weed out false sightings. We are also interested in sightings of the car without plates.

Hercules Stolen Car Found, Suspects Arrested
The two people driving the stolen car owned by Susie Ko were arrested following a chase in Washington state.
By Lori Preuitt | Wednesday, Oct 10, 2012

Hercules police are headed to Washington State to interview two suspects who may be connected to the violent stabbing death of a retired teacher who was found dead in her home Friday night.

Darnell Washington, 24, and Tania Washington, 25, were arrested Wednesday following a high speed chase involving Susie Ko's stolen blue Subaru. The family car had been missing since her death.

Ko's story has captured the Bay Area's attention because of the mysterious and violent circumstances of her death.

The Washington's have been on the run since Darnell Washington allegedly escaped from San Bernadino County jail on Aug. 28. Police said his wife helped him. After that, Darnell is accused of shooting a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy on Sept. 2.

It was not clear how the couple came in contact with Ko or her vehicle.

On Wednesday police in the Washington city of Sea Tac ran the plates of a car parked on a street. The car came back as a stolen vehicle out of Hercules. Police said when the officer approached the driver, he sped away ramming the officer's car along the way.

A chase followed and ended with Sea Tac police boxing in the Subaru. Police said the driver repeatedly attempted to ram police cars in an attempt to get away, but finally gave up. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested after being ordered out of the car by gun point.

Police said a shot gun was found in the vehicle.

Darnell and Tania Washington were being held on local charges, the sheriff's department said.

Hercules detectives were in route to Washington Wednesday afternoon to question the couple to see if they are responsible for Ko's death.

What a shame. These two morons could have taken the car without killing anyone.

Susie was the aunt of one of my Cal undergrad friends. I can't believe how close to home this hit. This guy broke out of San Bernardino Jail, and I'm living right by it now. What a crazy ass small world.

This is tragic. I agree...they could've taken the car without taking a life. May she rest in peace and may these scum bags rot in prison.
