Going with the hypothesis that I would not achieve the drop that I wanted using springs alone, that would be $200 that I would spend on them to still not have the look I was trying to have originally. Thus, saving that $200 on springs and putting it towards coils was the more logical solution. However, different folks needs require different solutions. If your $200 in springs brought you a satusfactory drop in your eyes, then that $200 was well worth it.

This may be a silly question, but I dig the height of the rear of my 2013 Impreza Premium, but the front is ridiculously high in comparison
Would dropping 1.5" in the front be overly detrimental to the handling? Between a small drop in the front, and spacing the rear a bit with spacers, the car would look about as flush as I care to have it. I've read spacing the rear increases understeer, but I feel like the car just barely tends to oversteer so it just may result in a very well balanced car. Oh and LULZ to the kids bashing on people dropping street cars all talking about how they want to keep their cars offroad capable. Big boys own a truck as well, and if you want to have some real fun, you get a few dirtbikes to boot |

I was originally considering basically doing that. The only problem I could see is you'd probably end up having some weird differences in ride quality and handling with the different spring rates and such. IE, stock rear springs with aftermarket fronts. Or, some type of very teeny drop in the rear with a more substantial drop in the front would both require buying two sets of springs, and have two different characteristics. Probably more of a hassle than it's worth. I do agree on spacing out the rear wheels a tad. The stance of this car from the factory is so weird. Yeah, let's have the rear sit ok, but have the front pop wayyyy up, oh, and let's pop the rear wheels under the rear of the car further than the front is so it looks ridiculous. Having that said, the only thing I can think of then is to get coilovers and just adjust them to the point of looking however you'd like. That, or start looking for mix n match springs from an 08+ WRX.. lol |

I removed my RSR springs two weeks ago in order to trade in my car. I did the rears one day, and the fronts another. I did drive around with the fronts lower and the rears stock for a few days. I did not notice any ill handeling characteristcs but it did have a more comfortabe feel to it and it looked prety level. I will be listing the springs, sport grill, front spoilers and smoked tail lights on ebay soon. I bought a 2014 Rally Blue WRX

I was reading on forums for other cars that you can get lowering springs for all the way around the vehicle, and then just use spring pads to raise the height of the rear. The spring rates will remain the same all around this way. |

Coilovers
I love the idea of coilovers but until you own a set, you really don't know what to expect. I had a set of coilovers on a lifted tacoma and their ride was amazing, what was not amazing was the fact that the shock had to be rebuilt every 30k miles. Before you go dropping serious coin, ask if the set can be rebuilt and/if/when it needs to be rebuilt. Your ride could be down for a days/weeks. I thought about coilovers on this car but decided I would just do the spring drop with the raked nose down set up on the RS-Rs. As for the wheel set ups, I would recommend +35,+38 for offset and that pushes the wheel out to where you want it. If you stick to what the original offset or some aftermarket rims at +48 you will be stuck on the fender and not flush as some of the folks on here would like it. Oh and the Megan Racing Toe-arms I installed fixed the problem. Got them off amazon and kinz performance for half of what all the other places were charging.

ISC N1s installed tonight. The rears had to be adjusted way up to be equal to the fronts. Rides awesome.
I ordered the 08+ WRX set and they fit my car ('12 Impreza 5 door). |

Yeah I know, I got home at night. Had to readjust rear ride height today after it settled.
IMG_3310 by XelaSknarf, on Flickr IMG_3311 by XelaSknarf, on Flickr Stock wheels/tires for now. Needs an alignment and I'll stay with the stock Yokos until they die. At 24k miles they have tons of life left. |

That actually looks pretty damn good with the 16's. Toss some 17's or 18's on and it'll look great.
The stock Yoko's were ok, but you'll be amazed at how this car feels with good tires. |

I know! I was surprised by how good it looks right now. I don't think I'll bother with other wheels, probably just good tires.

here's some more photos requested by a member wanting to know how a spring drop looks. My springs and rims will be going for sale this weekend if anyone is interested
B&G springs 1.2 drop 18x7.5 15x1000 ekm3 in gunmetal Both springs and rims have less then 500 miles on them so practically brand new. |

Kinda hard to tell with the garage shots, but is it still higher in the front by a hair with these springs only?

That looks nice. I can deal it being a bit higher looking in the front by a fracton of an inch versus 2" like it looks like now on my car. Hell, your rear end setup looks HIGHER than my stock premium setup.

For the rear I can fit two fingers and front is three. Just a bit high for my liking, hence why I pulled the trigger on coilovers.

...and that's a decrease over stock? My stock rear height visually looks identical to the car in your pics. I'll try and get a picture to show.
You pull those springs yet and put them up for sale btw? |
