well damn, i should really work on my math skills. anyways, i live roughly 160 miles away from my parents house. i drive to see them about every other week or at least every 3 weeks. i have driven with and without the load warrior. 65 average mph, with the load warrior it is about 30 mpg, without is about 36-37 mpg. so i suppose it is in the 20% reduction. my bad, should have moved my decimal over one more spot.

With the Skybox, driving on the highway at 65-70 mph most of the way, I saw 31.8 indicated on the display. Probably would have been 35-36 without the Skybox, but that's just a guess. I'm satisfied that I can get those numbers with that big thing strapped onto my roof.

Have you done an average for a fillup yet?

Default Sedan Roof Rack

New here, just got my Thule roof rack installed on my '12 sedan. It's the 480 footpacks with the 1649 kit, had to wait three weeks for the fit kit, but totally worth it.

This shot was taken near Mt. Baldy in Socal

No, and I'm not sure how useful it would be. I got stuck in a lot of construction/accident traffic during this road trip, so it's not representative of a typical road trip.

But the mileage I stated in my previous post was viewed on my dashboard display after filling up and driving a couple of hundred miles, before running into the next traffic bog-down.

on a side note, here is one of my inno fairings...I have the same one, medium, on both cars. This one pictured is from the WRX, but it is the exact same fitment on the 2012 2.0i

Hey sorry, kind of off topic. I can see that you have replaced your lug nuts, it creates quite the contrast. Did you just get the lock key and torque them off and torque on the new ones?

I noticed with the factory rack there really isn't a need for a wind deflector. stays pretty quite even with the sunroof open and at speed.

The spolier attaches to the spoiler that comes on the regular Impreza's. It' on subaru genuine parts for like 250ish painted so not bad at all.

kylepreza, do you mind posting more overhead shots of the fairing? I just got my Impreza Sport and I added the Factory Aero blades (like you have) and I'm planning to add the Inno fairing but I have a sunroof and I would like to know the level of interference the Fairing will have with the sunroof.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, I have a sunroof as well. The set up isn't perfect: (apologies for crap weather)

as far as I know the Inno fairing is the only one that fits factory aerobars, so I had little choice.

First off you will need to order the extra long bolts (sold separately from the fairing, but atleast they foresaw this issue) because the side clamps attach to the thicker part of the aerobar (where it attaches to the siderail):

-This issue could probably be solved by buying the small size, but it wouldn't span the width of the roof.

Either way you go, the arms that attach the fairing to the crossbar just aren't long enough to fully clear the sunroof. I have it configured so that when the car isnt moving, the fairing's feet are hovering about a centimeter or so above the glass of the sunroof:

At speed they are resting on the glass, but I've had it set this way for about a month now and there's no smudging or anything. The only functional issue you have with this is opening the sunroof at full speed. Standing still I'm able to open it just fine, and there's no interference at all as far as just raising the back:

Like I said, it's not perfect by any means but it works just fine. The aerobars are quiet enough so that when I'm not hauling my bike every week I can take the rockymounts and fairing off and have a fully unobstructed sunroof. Here's a shot from the inside:

kylepreza, thanks for the pics and the useful info. I saw somebody took the Inno fairing and moved the outer arms closer together to attach it to the "main section" crossbars where you would put your bike trays or snowboard clamps. That was what I was set up to do, but I didn't know about the longer bolts.
This aerobars don't have much "real state" for you to carry your gear, so the long bolts help to address this issue. I had a MKIII Jetta with a roof rack that was able to hold one bike tray and a four-snowboard clamp. I was planing to use the old Yakima fairing, but after some thought I decided to get the Inno. Here are some crappy cell phone pics of my car. I'll dust off an SLR I have somewhere and take some decent shots next weekend.

I got impatient with my medium sized Inno when it arrived and went to the hardware store and bought $10 worth of stuff and bolted it on...

What's up all. I just got a 2013 Impreza 2.0i Premium 5-door about 2 months ago and was looking for roof rack options. There's tons of examples here for the sport model but hardly any for the non-sport. I wanted an aero style crossbar and here's what I came up with just in case anyone else was looking:

Yakima:
Control Tower System
Not compatible with Whispbar

Thule:
Podium Fit Kit 3068
Rapid Podium Foot Pack
47" Aeroblade

Also, while looking through this thread I came across this photo by freshrider:

This looks like a non-sport model (no roof rails, non-sport wheels) but has the aero splash guards and strake kit attached. How is this possible? I guess he could have removed the rails and switched out the wheels but was hoping that it was possible to add the sport options to a non-sport. I tried messaging him but he hasn't responded.

I have the 2012 premium (non-sport) without factory rails or crossbars. I just installed the Thule Aeroblade with the 480R Rapid Traverse feet and fit kit 1649. The fit guide on Thule's website says this configuration is for the 4 door model, but after comparing the dimensions for both models carefully, I decided to give it a try and can confirm that it does fit the 5-door as well. The podium feet should work too, but I wanted a rack that was easily removable and could be used on other cars.

Because it is a Canadian Impreza sport. Mine looks like that too with the underspoiler, aero splash guards, and strake kit installed.

Maybe you guys on here can give me some ideas here... i do a lot of kayak fishing, most of the time by myself. so my kayak being 12.5 ft and heavy and awkward as hell. It's impossible to get it up on this car without scratching it up... what i used to do on my old suv was just prop it up and drag it up the side... damaging the paint.. so my question is, what is the most efficient way to making this work... ive searched and seen some stuff that can be quite expensive... any ideas? Any of you guys come up with anything
