Default TDC Tuning stage 2 etune map

With the backup at PDX, I started looking for viable alternatives for an etune. After reading up on how happy LGT owners are with TDC I decided to give them a shot. Their customer service is exceptional. Quick responses to emails, and responds to AIM messages. My initial map arrived in about 4 days, and the revisions came extremely quick. One came within an hour.

With the TDC map the car spools faster and is much smoother than the Cobb map. The cobb map just suddenly spikes you into boost, this one smooths out the power delivery, and the driveability is improved. Feels more responsive throughout the entire powerband, even the top is improved.

Car info: 04 WRX - uppipe/gutted stock tbe/05 sti axleback. 93 oct.

3rd gear, logs taken back-to-back.

Looking nice. Definitely looking in to dumping my PDX maps (I don't run them anymore) and giving TDC a try.

How long did it take for you to get your map? Do they let you send them logs and then improve your map?

Cool, that's some good turnaround time. I wish I hadn't caught PDX in their giant snafu. I'll probably call up TDC if I need some mail order stuff in the future!

I just got my map today. Datalogs look great. I used to see a lot of negative KC values with my cobb stage 2 91 octane map. With this map, I'm seeing anywhere from 3-6 under power. Boost is hitting 16.5psi 3rd gear (this is an '06 WRX). Cobb's map only ever hit 14.8 and never really did that in 3rd gear. It's running pretty high wgdc's, but everything so far looks great. What I don't understand that other tuners, like PDX, make your map specific to your AP serial number so that you can only use it on yours. TDC just sends you a file, nothing protecting it from being shared. I sent in my logs today and am waiting for them to revise it. So far, so good

Hi -

Im Joe at TDC. I am the internest sales and marketing doood here now. I will try to be a little more active, the legacy guys eat up so much of our time it is nutz but we have begun to branch out much more into the WRX STi and Forester groups. So far we honestly have no had one disappointed customer with our e-tune protunes.

You don't have to take my word for it, just do some searching on the LGT board.

Maps are $150 for a customized map for your ride. You then send us logs and we will tweak if something isn't quite right for free. But if all is well you are off and running!

I try to turn the maps around in 3 days or less. We are backed up a bit on other stuff but I fill the map orders after Jon creates them so we get them out pretty fast!

Hope to talk to some of you soon!

JOe

+1 from a happy '06 owner with a TDC map. I've had one revision so far, waiting on the second. Car is logging much happier now and is definitely faster.

I just ordered my tune from TDC. I have not recieved it yet, though it is shocking sometimes how quick they get back to you. It's almost like Joe is sitting at the computer waiting to return e mails. Best customer service from a vendor I have recieved so far.
Can't wait to load my new map and run some logs.
Thanks Joe!

I loaded my TDC map tonight. The car pulls like a freight train.
It keeps getting better and seems to be learning quickly.
Throttle response and spool up is much improoved. It does so running a little less boost than the Cobb map does.
The driveability has improoved gobs....speaking of gobs, the torque is a little scary at first. 2nd and 3rd gear have way more punch down low and 4th seems to make more power and hold it closer to 6 grand than before.

I need to run some logs and see how happy the tune is.

Well worth the $150

Where is the TDC store located? All these reviews sound good. I have also heard good things about Ed of EQ Tuning and his E-maps.
