It's a proprietary connector. Unless Apple licenses it to you, you cannot legally produce it. And I imagine sue-happy Apple will enforce that policy.

It'll be on China eBay. No worries. Apple wouldn't go through the hassle of suing each individual company.

I realize that. But it's China. Have you seen what they have there or most places in Asia? Knockoffs upon knockoffs of everything.

I don't understand how the iPhone 5 is going out with no NFC when the whole "payments" thing was a major focus of the iOS6 announcement. Makes 0 sense, even if it was a planned feature for the iPhone 5S next year.

It would be like them announcing Siri at the release of iOS4, but having no phones that support it for 2 years

I think apple plans on using the screen to show a barcode that will be scanned by a scanner.

I wish I was kidding

Why on earth would you assume that ? They intend for you to buy the new phone and replace all your accessories for Texa$. That's how they roll .

They made a $9 adapter to use the old mag chargers on the new retina display MacBook.

Are we talking simple power here or a dock? I'm sure that there will still be a micro usb power adapter. Docks and the like? I don't think so. There is a reason why apple won't license the new adapter.

Well they need something they can say is "innovative" for when they release the 5s.

To me, he was clearly talking about power, not docks. You have to have a special dock plate every time the phone is updated anyway (different shape), so the new iPhone would be unlikely to fit in old docks anyway without a new dock plate from the manufacturer (I'm thinking like my iHome alarm clock, for example.)

Meh, how many countries did Siri actually work in? It was there, but most of advertised functionality was not working at all up here in Canuckistan. But people still bought the advertising. *shrugs&

My guess is there will be an adapter.

That and I think they did it in order to start fitting the adapters into a thinner form factor. Something they haven't had to worry about until now.

I don't hate The product, I hate Apple for their asinine patents and the fact that they have gone sue happy for no reason. The employees and users are typically douches too, Not all, but most....
