Default AEM EMS question with initial startup

Im currently awaiting approval to be added to the AEM Boards, until then, ill try here as well.

My STI came with one of the original AEM EMS units, PN 30-6820, in my 2004 STI. The system was previously running properly when I got a hold of the car. The car has sat for a year while getting the motor situation figured out. The AEM unit was removed and brought into my house for safe keeping.

While sitting, i prepped for a mild wire tuck and this may be where I went wrong. I removed all the sensors no longer used, and I also removed the ABS system. I cut the tgv, ebcs, map, and abs connectors clean, and tapped them up. I have a feeling where I went wrong, was with the abs harness.

Currently the issue im having, the car will crank, but will not start. I have gotten it to start twice, but it idles right out. It cranks, revs to about 3k, then just idles out.

Now take a step back, when I first got the motor in a few nights ago, I just ran a pipe from the turbo to the throttle body, and with out calibrating for the injectors, we cranked it and got it started. It was idling at 3k, but it would idle. So we calibrated the injectors ( my tuner did it for me, and he in very familiar with aem) and I hooked up the intercooler and BOV and finished any other loose ends. Now its just cranks.

I know I need to calibrate the Electronic Throttle Control System, but I cant. The reason I cant not, is because when I turn the key to the ON position, The CRUISE and SET lights blink once and never come on again. In order to calibrate the ETC, the CRUISE and SET lights should continue Flashing while the Key is in the ON Position.

I believe this may be linked to the cut ABS harness, possibly something that needs to be grounded?

Before i start splicing all the abs wires back together, maybe someone has an idea or has ran into similar issues.

thanks in advance.

Check a wiring schematic. There are numerous sensor that are ground together. Your prol missing a ground for something.

yea I connected the abs harness today, and attached that main ground, and in almost starts now (better then before) but still does not start. Im also awaiting some input from AEM Tech support, and will work with them over the phone tomorrow in front of the car.

Are you getting stat sync? If it doesn't sync it will not fire the plugs.

Sync was good, thanks for the input, ended up being mechanical and not aem related.
