Auto show in motion...
Anyone go today?
I met one guy on his way out, Ronautocrosser was the name if my poor memory serves correctly. Anyone else go? I parked between a blue wagon with white wheels and a red GC with some fatter than stock tires (maybe a 97?). I have to say, that was a BLAST. I beat the piss out of 30 something different cars. No lines, and I got to drive the Corvette twice, the CTS-V twice, and the H2 twice. I got a mark on my bracelet for drifting an SSR, but that was the only slash. In true Keefe-esque style, I drifted just about everything I could. Highlight was the CTS-V. On the second turn, I swung out, dipped in, got on it, and held full lock counter-steer until clear the cones and eased back reeled it back in and straight on through the final cones. The instructor seemed to be very impressed with how I handled it and let me go out for another lap. That car is a BLAST. I had much more fun in it, than I did in the Vette. "I'm not a drifter.... I'm a rotationist." Who else went? Any stories or fun times?

LOL, I must've been slurring. Hi
New vette was a disappointment. Compared to the old Z06, it felt disconnected, except for the brakes which felt great. I did get a,"Thanks for knowing how to drive," from Steve, who'd just taken a lap with someone who looked to have never driven a stick prior. And I hadn't driven a GTO before. I'm still shaking my head at just how bad that thing's interior is. I thought the ebrake would come off in my hand if I really set it. That car sounds fantastic... but that's it. Liked the TL better than the 5 series they had there, which surprised me. And scoped some sport 'utes for trooper replacements. Very cool of gm to let me spend an afternoon shoppin' Last edited by rautox; 05-13-2005 at 09:07 AM. |

Sorry . I have a bad memory.
The C6 feels much better on the street than it did on the track. The C5 was a bit more raw and a bit more edgy (which I like), but the C6 is confident and feels larger than it is. |
