Exclamation Falken 451... why no 7.5 inch wheel?

I've had my Falken FK 451 tires (215/45-17) on my Rota Formels for a while now and upon cleaning the wheels the other day, I read this on the tire "Do not mount on a 7.5 inch rim".

What's that all about? I've already auto-crossed on these and done some spirited driving as well. Plus the place that mounted them said nothing of this warning.

What is everyones opinion on this? At this point, I'm not able to buy new tires (and definitely not new wheels).

TIA,
-Mike.

Mike, look at it again and make certain that it does not say "do not mount on 17.5 inch wheel"

Thanks Kent. I'll check again after work and post my findings.

Lightbulb

I am an idiot... it does say "do not mount on a 17.5 inch rim".

Well, I'd rather sound like a newb and be wrong about something like that.

16" Azenis have the same warning about being mounted on a 16.5" rim. Falken must have gotten sued by somebody who thought you could round down.

My Toyo's have the same warning. I think its on any tire that is sold in the US and Europe, because I've never seen a ½" rim for sale in the US.

There are some large trucks that come with 16.5 and 17.5 inch rims, but I doubt anyone would be trying to put low profile tires on them.
