Kevin,

No place in NOVA does jet-hot coatings. A couple do hi temp powdercoats( American Stripping), but not true jet hot.
I just sent my custom 4"catback and midpipe to Jet Hot in Mississippi. They used to have a branch in PA, but recently closed it. I had a set of intercooler pipes done awhile ago and was so happy with the results and finish. Shipping on the other hand was another story with them(took them 3 weeks to ship my pipes back)

Do you know if the hi-temp powder coating works very well? Also, any idea on a price range for this kind of work?

Thanks

the Jet-Hot coating is in fact a powder coating that is applied as a semi-liquid spray. However, the formula that JetHot uses as opposed to a local coater is almost surely different. You should call the local provider and ask what their coating is designed for and if it will work in your specific application.

It has pretty good rust protection, but as performance goes(keeping heat in or out) it is lacking compared to a ceramic coating.

The headers will probably generate too much heat for the powdercoat. you'd need somthing in the 2000F range to be safe from blistering the coat.

I don't know if this makes sense or not, but would a Jet-Hot coating on a N/A header help keep down the likelyhood of throwing a cell code since the exhaust temps will stay higher, thereby keeping the O2 sensors happier?

a few companies sell a 1600*F header paint... so I doubt you would need anything that would have to be rated at 2000*F....

Actually, 1600* paint will flake off like you wouldn't believe. That stuff might be good for N/A cars, but I'd go 2000*. When talking to Jet Hot a few years ago, this is what they recommend for Turbo'd engines also...
