Totem Rally
Supp regs are posted on Rally BC web site . Event in Nov 16/17/18 out of Cache Creek . This event in recent years has had more snow, more challenge and more fun than Thunderbird that runs in Feb . 2 days and about 16 hours of rally time which is pretty good value for the entry fee .. This early snow is a good sign as snow and ice are the best thing for subie drivers . The event is open for novice entries and no special requirements to enter . Check out the web site and get your self organized to be there .. Hope to have a VIC team entry .. I know Alex will be there . who else is in ??

i know a few more people will participate but not haven't registered yet.
and some others who want to do it but for some reasons think they can get their car damaged and this is very common missconception about TSD rally more likely You can damage Your car or especially engine during autocross on TSD one don't get to push car that hard simply because speed given is below posted speed limit and I never saw it exceeding 72 km/hr Last edited by alexinvancouver; 10-30-2012 at 01:43 PM. |

It's too bad that people think their car will be in danger. I look at it totally opposite. I would rather train to drive in winter conditions away from the city and bad drivers. It gives me skills to deal with situations like freeway driving, traffic and erratic city drivers in the snow and ice. Now that's where you should worry about your car getting damaged!
Anyways, I'll be registering in the next day or two. In the meantime I'll be installing these: and this: |

There isn't really a lot of stress or wear on the vehicle, unless you are like me and drive into snowbanks and ditches. |

A skid plate is a really good thing to have.
It is possible to hurt the car in a TSD, I have seen it. I say 5 -10% chance. Stage rally it is likely you WILL damage the car. About 93% chance a few hundred in repairs. But 80% of statistics are made up It all depends on the team. |

i'm a skid plate freak and never leave a house without it=o)
last year on Heart of Darkness two VW's damaged their oil pans and had to call it a day hey, but those were VW's and their oil pans are made out of tin foil becides it was summer and the route was really rough. this would never happen in winter 2010 WRX Limited oh yeah, You'll need those for sure i'm using Bosh lights but replaced halogens with HID bulbs and ballasts bought on craigslist the kit costs like $80 but the difference is unbelievable! |

it's pretty simple thing to do, just find out what bulbs are in Your lights and when call the guy on craigslist and ask him for that specific bulb
and since You're gonna be doing wiring anyway why not wire them HID? if You decide to do it, make sure the bulbs are day white (4300k) rs420 did You register? i wonder if Timbits will show up Last edited by alexinvancouver; 10-31-2012 at 12:31 AM. |

I'm already over budget on converting my car from road course duty to rally duty so HIDs will have to wait for next year. I'm pretty happy to be adding some auxiliary lighting for now... Motorsports is not a cheap hobby |

When it gets dark on Sat nite and the average speeds go up you are going to wish you had better lights .. lol .. standard lights don't give you enough warning to get slowed down on ice and snow ..been there done that ..
