Post WRX Shift Knob Install

Has anyone replaced the stock manual shifter in their WRX. Seems like the boot and shifter are one. Can you remove the knob without disassembly of the console trim. I want to use a set screw style Momo knob and I'm looking for directions.

unscrew the knob with bag still attached then peal the bag off the knob its not hard at all they arent one.
