sound deadening/dynamat etc. Best practice?
I have quite a bit of sound deadener material coming. I was going to do the doors and some of the engine compartment...was looking for advice from people who have done it before, or who may have helped someone else do it.
Doors: in the pictures they put the material on the inside of the outer door panel. I was wondering about putting it behind the interior (plastic) panel. Trying to reduce the effect my subs have on things in the door like the lock/unlock mechanism bars etc. Is this viable, or should I stick to deadening the exterior door panel? Engine: I have an intake (j-shaped ram...not CAI) thats pretty mean sounding. The novelty of deafening people as I pass them has gone by and I wanted to quiet it up a bit. I was told I can wrap this stuff around the aluminum intake tube to not only change/deaden the sound a bit, but to also reduce the temp of the intake tube itself. I was also going to put it on the inside of the hood (under the foamy temp material stuff) and on the inside of the compartment where the intake is. I dont want to put it along the firewall between the engine/cockpit because I want to be able to hear the engine in case something goes horribly wrong. The rest: I'm not horribly interested in doing the floor/trunk etc right now but where I have 2 10" subs I was wondering if it would help the acoustics any. My car is a wagon, so its pretty open and i dont see how putting deadening material in the cargo area is going to drastically improve sound...then again ive never done this before. Any tips or opinions on what i posted above?

I did my truck with Peel 'N Seal and all I have is an 8" Solobaric @ 280W. It made a noticable difference, wasn't very hard to do, and cost probably 30 bucks.
