Whiteline swaybar question
I hope this isn't a stupid question, but...
I'm putting in my new 18-22 this weekend and wasn't positive... Which holes are which? Which is 18 and which is 22? I'm assuming 22 would be the farthest setting. Thanks!

i don't have one of those, but from what i know of physics (which is kinda a lot), the closer hole should give the effect of 22, and the further from the bar the effect of 18

Jim is right, 18 is the hole at the end, 20 is the next in, and 22 is the hole farthest in.

Doh! Back under I go!
Those things are a pain to weasel under the muffler! Least I don't have to do that again. Yeah... Guess it would be a little stiffer the closer it gets. Thanks guys! |

*shrug* I set mine to 22mm off the bat and hadn't looked back at all. It was an oversteer beast - very fun on the RE92's, but now that I've got springs and AGX's on the car, I need to find the right combination between them all.

ChimChim, you got it over the muffler??? I had to drop the damn thing. Needless to say, i wasn't happy. Pain in the arse doing it by yourself.
But soo far the bar seems really good. |

Yeah... I got it under the muffler... Almost used my jack to lift the car, but I did manage to weasel it from the passenger side. There was no way I was going to let that pipe get the better of me!
May try setting it up to 20 later. I have a MY01, so I haven't messed with the suspension at all yet. I took it for a little test drive. I did notice I could corner faster, but I didn't push it too hard. Did I really tight U-turn. But I don't know if it was all that much tighter than before. I can't wait to hit some exit ramps now! Don't think I've reached my caffeine quotient for today... Throbbing head... Ugh! [This message has been edited by ChimChim (edited September 23, 2000).] |

If installing the whole kit, open your fuel door and unscrew (loosen, not take off) the three screws that hold the gas line in place. Then, pull off the plastic protector behind the wheel that covers the gas line. It will now be loose enough to wiggle forward to fit a socket onto the swaybar mount.
As far as which setting to use, I ran at 18mm for about two months to get used to it. I upped it to 22mm for the Camden AutoX tomorrow and took it out for a ride tonight. Wow! It gets a little squirrely in the rain, but I can't wait to try it at the race! Here are pics of the install to see what to loosen up: It is much easier to jack up the car and put a jackstand under the arm (not the chassis) to get at the fuel line to loosen it up. Trunkmonkey is here! There is no cone... Sean Sosik-Hamor < [email protected] > Epinions Automotive Reviews by `Sean [This message has been edited by Sean (edited September 23, 2000).] |
