Lol yeah it would, I'm thinking of either welding the bolts or the security bolts they sell but they're kind of expensive.

I'm going to try loctite red on a few separate bolts to see just how much force they can withstand. Supposedly it's unbreakable without 500f° after cured

This thread reminds me of the days I fabbed an 80's cyclops "passing" light into the grill of my former 1979 DL.

I'm watching this thread so I can get some ideas for my 2011 WRX.
I'm liking them primitive light bars.

I'm sure some where in the 200+ pages of this post my question is probably burried in here, I tried using the google search and came up short.

I'm looking into getting a pre-fab light bar for my '11 STI Hatch but I've seen some mixed reviews about three big ones. (Rally Innovations, Gorilla Off Road, and Primitive)

Is there any major differences between the three brands or all they pretty solid light bars?

Haven't seen (or heard) anything bad said about Gorilla's bars. He's a member on here I believe, as well as being a frequent contributor/member/vendor on DirtyImpreza. Hell, one of his bars may be what I use for my new setup, or I'll just go custom again. His S/N on DI is Skemcin, name is Derek.

As for Primitive (Paul is the guy there) is also a DI member/vendor (IIRC), and his bars are beefy as hell too.

Can't speak for the Rally Innovations one at all.

Here is a bar my buddy Tony and I fabbed up loosely (hehe) based on a rally innovations design. The mounts are for 2 Hella Rallye 4000's. I want to eventually add a second set somewhere on it. Anyway...I will post more pics soon.

Got er up on photobucket so now y'all can see it. Lol.

Hope the photo works...first time doin it. If it doesn't, I right clicked on it to view it. Maybe some tips from the onlookers if there are any available?
Upload your pi to a photo hosting site. Google "img host" and the first 10 or so work well. Then copy the image location and surround it with and you're set.

Test fitted the SR10 bar finally. Don't really like this grill but for $30 shipped it fits the light behind it perfectly and should allow me to mount the bar directly to the bumper beam. Hopefully can get it all set up tomorrow for the full install.

(The hood is not completely closed in the pic, the grill fits pretty good actually)

which one is that??? they have the spot, driving or combo??? and could you use it other than off road???

im lookin for that same kind of thing for my car.....what im lookin for is something that can 'fill in' below the high beams when im out in the woods at nite

i dont wanna buy something like this and find out that it is too focused or not focused enough......im lookin for more of a driving light than a fog light

i was lookin at the rigid SR10CW or the SR10FW

That looks like a pretty nice light but more for light style.

1350 lumens is not enough to light up a road for night driving.

That's the SR10SW (spot). I haven't had a chance to turn it on yet but from talking with people and even the Rigid company rep it seems that the combo light might work best for you. I've heard that the driving light is too unfocused but is extremely bright. The spot bar and driving bar won't "fill in" the highs they kinda take over the highs lol.

Best thing I gotta say about the bar is its so compact yet rugged. Even the harness they supply is great. It's supposed to snow here tonite now so hopefully I can have this all set up before it starts.

The combo would probably be the best though I've also heard a lot of good about the sr10 specters, my morimotos do a good job along with hid high beams that are now on a separate relay of there own for wide and closer coverage but I wanted something that could go a lot further down the road so I got the sr10 spot and that's exactly what it does but it's very narrow, about one lane wide closer and about two to three wide at 50+ meters

i got a response from a thread i made on dirtyimpreza.com and that was that i'd need a 20" bar or 2 10's to have enough light

i dont wanna buy a 10 combo and find out that i need another one.....any thoughts on that???

I'm planning on using the SR10 spot and in addition trying to retrofit the Dually D2s into my stock fog location for the up close light. My existing lights will supplement the in between from the D2s to the SR10 spot.

Uncle Scotty:
Check out the E Series they make, might be a better option the buying 2 SR bars.

i had the ff1000's with the stock 55w bulbs in them and they were like f00king laser beams

if i turned them on on the highway id get flashed from oncomming from a mile away

they are SERIOUS lights....and i might just have to find another set...but they are stupid much light and a bit bigger than i wanna run

do NOT try to run the ff1000's in the stock lower bumper openings in a bugeye....waste of time...they NEED to be higher up

Anything above the ten inch will be a combo, but if you have the room where you're planning to put the light and the money, i'd say go with the 20 inch light bar. And as stated above the E series would be even more light yet as it's not just a single row but the size gets a lot bigger and the money goes up even more.
And I also wouldn't use any of these lights in traffic as they weren't designed to

That's what makes them great down here. Idiots don't turn of their high beams. A flash of however many lumens I was pushing (1 combo 10" SR & 2 Duallie spots, all Rigid Industries)would usually get them to figure what was up. Had a few pickups high beam me (I had HIDs in the WRX), so a blast of them would fix that too

This cannot be stressed enough. I've used FF1000 and 500FF driving lamps in the stock fog location and it was just awful. I'm using 500FF Fogs and it works a lot better.
