I really wish there was more traffic in here than just the gallery section.

Any pictures of the control arm/subframe issue you took on?

Haha you and I both

Here's a pic showing where I trimmed my subframe for control arm clearance. This applies to the GD/GG chassis, not sure about 08+. We just bagged an 08+ in our shop and it got SUPER low without any trimming at all... not even the pinch weld, which was pre-notched from the factory! Thanks Subaru / Fuji

Here a few pics right after install. We're still waiting for the body shop to finish with the Karlton flares so we can really slam it

Finally finished installing my rear height sensors. Having a hard time since I've never done this before and have no buddies around with experience.

I'm having a hard time getting lower in the front. I'm hitting axle in the front, onto the body. What do you guys recommend? Could I adjust the threads on the strut to fix this or am I stuck to having to cut a notch on the body?

I was very surprised when that was holding me up and not the typical control arm on subframe. I still have a good inch of tire showing.

Are you sure it's the axle hitting the subframe? On the GD/GG Chassis, the tires hitting in the wheel wells is the big limiting factor for drop. There is a pinch weld that the axle sits on initially, which can be cut out with a cutoff wheel. Once the wheel wells have been tubbed, the axle will hit the subframe and the control arms will also hit the subframe. I have pictures in this thread of the cutting I've done on my '06 Wagon to get the front end lower. You get stopped in the following order:
I can't legally recommend any modifications to your chassis on behalf of Bag Riders LLC, but from one enthusiast to another, those are the steps to take to get the front end extremely low! There are a bunch of pictures on the first couple pages of this thread demonstrating each area to cut. [EDIT] Added links to pictures

Cheers,
John

Thanks for all those references but it's true. My axle is hitting the frame before anything else. Tires have some room to go, control arm has tons of room.

I will try and snap a pic in a few.

That's the pinch weld I'm talking about! You should be be able to remove that with a cutoff wheel

Just thought it was weird that the axle was my first issue.

Thanks, Jon.

After being out in the garage working, I'm not going to notch it. My front tires are less than an inch to touching the well so I don't think it's worth the time to notch for pretty much nothing. I guess I won't be as low in the front as I wanted.

Yeah the last ~1" of drop on the GD/GG chassis is a long, painful process that goes in about 1/4" increments from the pinch weld (1/4"), wheel well modifications (~3/8"), frame notch (~1/4"), and finally subframe notch for the control arm (~1/8").

I notched the pinch weld. No sense in getting bags and not trying to go as low as possible.

Now my tire hits the well.
