"My Engine is Knocking"

"My car won't run on even though I added oil"

"My Car is leaking oil"

And finally "My Car stopped running"

Camshafts snap more often than you'd think.

I once saw a pickup truck with a twisted chassis... twisted in all 3 axis.

It was literally driving pointing in 3 different directions. I came up from behind, it seemed odd because I thought it was trying to change lanes... but then as I saw it from the side, it was a sideways banana... and then as I pulled in front, the front end was pointed in the other direction and off kilter. The thing was aligned... if you can call it that to drive with the bulk of the vehicle pointed at 11:45ish.

Car ran over something..something huge... Don't know what because the customer didn't remember running over anything.

It was a brand new car with less than 2000 miles..

Needless to say - the repair wasn't covered under warranty.

Here's a different angle..

Nope.

All the pictures are of scoobies.. N/A scoobies for that matter...

Except the piston/rod explosion of the "I put oil in my car and it still doesn't run". That was from an STi..

Repetition. I'm sure if we both worked on Audi and VW all day they would be easy to us but I'd still hate them lol. To much crap into too small of an area. I like changing oil on them more than a Subaru though. Bought a new tool just for taking off those stupid filters so I don't have to burn my hand lol.

I have some gems if flikr would start working for me

Meh.. It's actually made me loose quite a bit of faith in Subarus if anything.

All I see day in and day out is broken Subarus.

Some of it is totally customer caused though.

I still remember there was a Subaru with 30,000 miles on it and the engine started knocking..

It still had the original factory oil filter on it.

"Oh? I need an change my oil more often? I thought that is what the oil light is for"

Replacing the power steering hoses in my old TT was the biggest pain in my ass, contorting my arms in order to fit those stupid hoses in the right spot, and the hoses cost $1000.... my friend did his in his Jeep a few months later in an hour and it cost $50. That's when I knew I had to sell the TT.

Looks like a 4.0L jeep engine.
Jeepers can be very resourceful when it comes to "fixes".
Hell, i fixed a auto trans gear change actuator with a stick.
Gotta love the simplicity of the pre-2007 jeeps.

Yeah it's the 4.0L straight 6 engine. Simple to work on, last a long time. Valve covers always leak lol

@Benhart21 yes it is a tech showed me it. He had it on his cell and I got it from him. Doesn't matter its hillarious which is part of what this thread is about. No need to get all grumpy about it

I love this thread! I work at a Nissan dealer here in SC and the amount of ignorance and stupidity we see day in and day out...simply amazing. Keep the pics coming and I'll try and get some of my own to share.
