Yes I do have the parts just sitting around, just need a downpipe solution.
Ive done at least 4 turbo swaps so I'm not worried about that. I wish one of you guys were local so I could actually feel the difference in the two turbos. I'll sit on it for a few months while I sell off old parts and recoup some costs.

2.5 hours until she arrives! then its time to get welding the DP and ewg's! i hope i am not missing anything.... avcs wires going in today after class.
also what are ppl running for clutches on these things? i am gunna run a stock 5mt clutch for now to save on tranny wear and tear from accidental hard clutch drops when im not paying attention. if its too much ill detune it to 15psi or something but was just wondering the direction everyone else has been going since idk how many ppl actually have 6mt or built 5mt tranny's. |

Sounds like fun!
My swap took me a lot longer than I had planned, since I took my time cleaning everything up. I'm using my stock 5 speed clutch (and 5 speed of course) but I'm kind of bummed I couldn't get the 6speed along with the motor. Even with the short gears in thw jdm unit it would have been nice to not worry about busting gears. Usdm is much more expensive route. Is the flywheel the same for 5/6 speed? |

no 6mt flywheels are larger. they dont fit into the 5mt bell housing on the trannies. but u can use a 5mt flywheel clutch setup on a 6mt tranny.

So does the smaller flywheel tens to slip sooner with more power?
What's the spool like on the blouch 2.5xt upgrade? Cost? |

Cost.....if you send it in to Blouch the basic setup will run you $1700 + your VF37. If you want it coated/ported n polished/3" inlet you're looking at $2k. |

Opposite, are you saying the difference between the two is minimal?
Have you driven both on an ej207? Anyone driven both? If it shifts the whole curve to the left even 25 ft lbs I.think it would be worth it. Do you guys running TS miss the sound? They don't sound like Hondas do they? |

I guess as long as its not a fart can I would be ok with it.
I cant imagine anything spooling any quicker than what I've got now. This thing feels just as quick as my td04 setup. 350 hp with minimal lag would be incredible.......(goes and checks disposable income..) |

damn well i got it. everything is super clean on the engine. like mentioned before the tmic got ****ed by the guy whole packed it. put it between the turbo and the seats even thought i told him twice to put cardboard on it. the map sensor also got broke off so i will have to get another one of those from the vendor. otherwise it all looks good
as far as my chart goes for jdm engines anyone know were the ej207dg8cr.... i know he said late model v8 but i cant find any info on it. google isnt much help with this one either. |

Congrats!
Did you buy a front clip? What version seats did you get? I'm about to puchase some v8 seats. Check your avcs oil solenoids too, they are commonly broken due to their location and poor packaging. Remarkably my IC was immaculate, not even one bent fin. Isn't the MAP sensor to be unplugged anyway? It's the one below the throttle body right? (or am I confusing it with something else?) Pull the timing covers and check your idlers, Clark said they are often bad. I'm jealous, wish I could have bought a whole front clip. Does your engine look nice and fresh? Or is there signs of oxidation? The two different engines I got were "clean" but looked like they had been sitting for months, if not years. Doesn't seem to effect performance though as this motor is amazing! Good luck, keep is updated with your progress. Are you doing a dyno tune? |

i didnt buy a clip. i was trying to see if the vendor would match prices. he wouldnt match prices but hooked me up with three options to choose from. jdm seats, alum front control arms or jdm cluster.
map sensor is on the side of the Throttle body. passenger side. its held on by two little screws. i got the rest of the sensor out and will run my usdm one for now until i get the problem fixed. i also ordered a new alum radiator from import image and the drain valve is broke off so now i need to get a new one of those if i can get the threaded part to back out. you want some usdm sti seats. i got a set for sale that i dont want in almost perf cond. |

You didn't think everything was going to work our perfectly as planned did you? Lol.....
Those "little" things cost me about a week of down time. I actually have usdm sti seats right now and they suck compared to my bugeye seats, I'm fairly disappointed to be honest, but they look cool as hell. But thanks for the offer. I found some v8 jdm seats for $780 shipped..not sure if its worth it. |

Give me the exhaust manifold part number, to confirm it's a V9. Mid 05 to mid 06. If it is a V9 but not a spec c, it may be an immobilizer car. |

A Spec C RA would be pretty cool.
Hope its not faked, Clark was saying that most are fakes..as long as you didn't pay extra for it no big deal. Is there a solution for the immobilizer? I recall seeing a thread where they could not get the engine to run due to the immobilizer. Hope it works out. |

i was told it doesnt have an immobilizer... were on the exh manifold do i find this Vlad?
as far as engine cond i would like to report this engine is clean as good be. i could swear that it came brand new from subaru. zero rust on any of the exh shields. no corosion anywere. everything is oil free. the exh gaskets for the up pipe and turbo look brand new like grimmspeed put them on. just a hint of heat coloring in them. i already tore the green brackets of death off the engine for future inj swaps. also took the ac, alternator, and ps pump off since i left mine hooked up to the car and hung them to the sides. i am really impressed with my purchase. just need to verify it isnt an immobilizer engine. |

Immobilizer engine - no. Immobilizer ECU - Possibly. I recently bought what I thought to be a V8 ej207. I'm pretty sure I got a v9 w/ an immobilizer ecu. I sent it back and am waiting on the new one.

White-
Very nice score, wish mine was that clean - Im pretty anal about things like that - but I guess in a Subaru you really don't even see the engine itself. Mine had some cosmetic rust, it just looked like it sat outside for quite a while. I really think ordering from these guys is just a crapshoot, you get pretty much what THEY want to send you. I think you get whatever engine they can get at first. But I have no complaints. My engine runs incredibly well, even with a few specks of rust! |

So I'm going to do a timing belt job on my ver8, the small pulley went bad so figure while im in there I might as well do it all . I was wondering if anyone had the part numbers for all the idlers and pulleys? I have the timing belt #. Should I just get a gates belt of a subaru genuine one ?

White, I don't have the engine out, try to find it.
Looks like this: 44100FE090 is for twinscrolls V8, meaning revisions C, D, meaning 09/2002 to 05/2004 44100FE110 is for twinscroll V9, meaning revision E, meaning 03/2004 to 05/2005 Thisone is superceded by 44610AA250 is for twinscroll V9, as above Then the same part number continues to revisions F and G, all the way to 2007 and the beginning of the hatchback, GR body Sti. Look at your turbo, see if it has printed on the compressor housing VF37 or 36, see if you have an oil cooler, or connection for radiator, see if you have a intake manifold temp. sensor, provision for cruise at throttle body or not. None of these is 100% evidence, but increases the probabillity. Post the ECU part number. |

well i have the ability to add cruise control to the bracket already on the engine. just like my 05 wrx. the turbo is a vf37, ecu is a 6A 22611AH581, 112200-5122, 225122e. not sure which of the numbers u need.
as far as exh numbers idk where they are and dont have the engine lift here atm to jack it up and look. def dont see any hook ups for an oil cooler unless i am not seeing them in a obv place. no intake mani temp sensor i could find. were would it be? just std sensors on the throttle body. |
