Default smoothing is usually 5, Moike.

I find car datalogs really rough on road dynos and usually average 4 pulls if I want real data for telling the difference of small changes. I usually use dataloglab software, but it's pretty much the same as Airboy... Limited by the ECU polling resolution.

A lot cheaper than a trip to the dyno though. And good enough for most work.

Hey guys. On STi's I always leave the smoothing on the minimum of 3 do to the pulls being quick and having less data points than the long geared, slower to spool wrx's.

This wrx was done with a smoothing of 4. Keep in mind for the airboy 3 is basically 0, in a sense, being the smallest possible value in the drop down box provided.

my car has pin ball testicles. strong past the cams/heads. stock clutch / trans no issues. cops and flat roads for airboy was the hardest part. now that i have heard you snore we are brothers mikey. i feel like i've known you a long time. real easy to enjoy mikey. im sure i speak for seneca as well....thank you for making these projects a reality.

huh,... I guess Im still on that list from last year.
I like the new numbers,.... I always thought the 3076 (or 3071) would be a GREAT setup for getting the most out of the 2.0 but hardly anyone does it. Keep up the good work.

Thats awesome Jake. I cant wait to see how it does with the new drivetrain. Any pics of the turbo setup?

That list is most definitely dated though... I made 312whp @ 17psi on a Mustang w/ a VF turbo. Plenty of people are making 300+ on stock 2.0's. They're not THAT bad.

That 312 would be about 285 on an airboy though. Jakes number's would be impressive on a chasis dyno to say the least.

The car pulls smooth out through redline, I liked how it came out in the end when all the small mechanical issues were corrected.

Anyone feelin the track next weekend?

Just about 225whp and 225-235wtq.

Jake's car is being transformed. It's a stock 2.0, and a stock 5 speed now. Soon it will be a completely built 2.5 longblock with a rebuilt 04 STi 6 speed.

The car is going to be an animal, I cant wait!

I cant wait either. Jakes car is going to be mean. What gears are in your 6mt?

The Mustang I was tuned on, stock STis are only good for 315-320. I saw one first hand put down 218/217/212 (back to back runs) before my car got tuned (same day.) It is Florida and it was 78* out. Im confident my car makes a true 300whp on any dyno. If you have time, next time your down in SNJ we can do an airboy. Id like to see it myself.

Haha, never been out that way. E-tuning brooo! Did you know when that td04 car went 12.40, it was on my E-tune

The car is locked and loaded now with my road tune and ready for low 12's I feel.

Isnt P&L out there? Jorge used to make fun of me when I questioned his stock turbo cars track performance

Anyways, let me know, E-tuning is a fun process

collecting last minute parts now. scheduled for motor install sat. trans is waiting on funds for clutch. i assume i need a 3.5 bar map sensor to run over 24#'s of boost? can i run that with 16bit ecu?
cant run speed density with stock ecu?

i thought we went over all this on the phone?

1 - Yes, there is a hard 24.75 psi limit in the 16 bit ecu.....but just like halfing the maf, there are ways around it.

2 - NO, you dont need a 3.5 bar MAP sensor IF you are gonna use the hallman and you have a boost gauge.

3 - Yes, there is speed density for the 16bit ecu BUT there are some minor bugs with it. I would stay away from this until you get the car going good with the MAF.....then switch over and play around if you want.

Basically, you need one of these

EBCS + 3.5 Bar MAP sensor
MBC + 3.5 Bar MAP sensor
EBCS + boost gauge
MBC + boost gauge

The last one is the cheapest...and easiest.

thanks ron. i did understand what you explained to me over the phone but how am i going to be able to make over 25#'s of boost?

so is it the map sensor or the ecu itself that is holding me back from making over 24#'s?
with the map the way it is, i hit fuel cut at 18 pounds on my gauge...because of the rom manipulation correct? i admit i don't completely understand what you guys did in the map. i wish someone could find the time to show me! so if i data logged, it would say i hit fuel cut at 24#'s of boost when actually i am only making 18 correct? there is a 6# difference...from map to actual from what i understood. that kinda blows. the difference between 18 and 24#'s of boost is probally dramatic at the track.

i guess what your saying about going around it is that by removing my boost tables and all that jazz and using a MBC we can achieve over 24 actual #'s of boost?

let me also remind you guys. the code i got was a po244. which is wastegate duty cycle exceeded. i don't see the correlation between that and the map sensor.

i ordered a tactrix. it'll be here tomorrow. i'll be able to datalog and reflash etunes remotely so we'll get this sorted out!

i'm suppossed to be putting my motor in on saturday but if i can't get a babysitter it might not be happening. either way i'm anxious to get into romraider and start comprehending it.

Yes...it would be so much easier to just show you.

Open up your rom in romraider...or ecuflash and try and type in a number greater than 24.75 psi the rom....YOU CANT.

So if you want to use a EBCS and run more than 24.75 you need to install a 3.5 Bar and rescale it so 24.75 psi in the target boost map is actually 30 psi.....

Anyway...i know what wrong with your map. send it to me tomorrow and it will take 5 seconds to fix. Mikey was using my wrx rom as a base map and it had the 3.5bar scaling in it...thats why your logged boost doesnt match the gauge. simple fix. and that po244 code is stupid too....its just a 1 cell map that says "wgdc limit".....

you're still not completely getting it. you have a hallman....and you have a boost gauge....so you dont need the MAP sensor.

i just need to zero the wgdc's....and increase the boost cut which you dont need with the hallman anyway.

The only reason you need the MAP sensor is if you're going to control the boost via the ecu and an ebcs. Or if you really want to be able to log the boost with a mbc.

Since you have the hallman and a boost gauge you dont need the MAP sensor to let the ecu monitor boost accurately since you arent using the ecu for boost control anymore.

That stock 2.0L list is extremely out of date. I know of many stock 2.0L's that make more whp than me and I'd be on that list lol
