Just ceramic coated mine. Thinking about wrapping, too - instead of putting the headshield back on. No boost gauge until Christmas, so I can't say what changed.

I used Thermo Tec on mine and chose to forgo the coatings Deadbolt offers. It's a wonderfully streetable turbo with zero problems. I highly recommend Jerry's offering for people who like the down low power. They aren't for everyone mind you, but they are a perfect fit for someone who like more down low power without upgrading to a more serious turbo.

so no one really had a bad experience by P&p the stock turbo, just good results. thanx for the info everyone

I used to have a p&p stocker. I wouldn't say the experience was bad, but it certainly wasn't worth the trouble of swapping everything out, nor was the expense worth it.

If you're going to do the work yourself or you can get it done for under $100, go for it.
