Q: Is there a seal where the shifter linkage enters the tranny case?
Sorry since my wording is the opposite of technical, but the shaft connected to the shifter inkage... is there a seal around where this enters the rear case?
I am asking because my tranny is leaking from that area and I'm trying to figure out what the issue is. It is not a "dripping" leak but a slow one that wets the rear of the tranny every few weeks. TIA, -Mike.

Yes there is a seal there. I have the same problem. IT's not too crazy an idea to remove the rear of the trans and replace it. There are a couple gaskets you'd need, and I believe an inner and outer shaft seal.

I'll be looking into this when it's time to replace the clutch. Thanks, -Mike. |
