Check this out, Jimhoyd

(hope the pic. comes out) It is being sold for close to $180 @ subaruwrxparts.com

Has anyone actually paid $80 for the CopperHead that holds 2 bikes? Very likely not.

Put me 2nd in line for just the rack!

Too bad you weren't selling last month, I just got the crossbars and was about to head to the dealer when I saw your excellent deal.

Necromancer,
I was the one that sold you the crossbars.. =)
I sold them, cause I got the round bars, since it fits, more applications, for racks and stuff. For the factory cross bars to fit other yakima racks you'd need to get mighty mounts, I have an unopen set of mighty mounts.

hkwan,
are your cross bars flat(oval) or round?

My is the flat ones. Sounds like if Necromancer gets my set, he doesn't even need the mounts. IMHO, the factory bar is definitely cleaner looking than the round bars.

sounds like it wouldn't fit my use case... thanks though

Necromancer, probably a better fit for you.. the only thing to watch out for is that, many ppl have complained that their bike racks are in the way of opening the hatch (hence having to cut them).. maybe this one from subaru will not have the same problem

Yep, you are correct, Jimhoyd, regarding the hatch contacting the bike rack after opening. I've looked into the issue before purchasing the set I have here. The issue is mainly for fork mount set-up using what you buy from aftermarket. Have not heard anything yet with the Subaru factory set up.

thanks for the interest Jimhoyd.

Here's a thread about bike racks and stuff that discusses clearances. might help

http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...referrerid=767

The subaru rack is a yakima. Looks like it the "lockjaw"

Thanks Tim for the link. I have couple of posts in there. It discuss mostly on the round cross bar and the fork-mount bike rack. Doesn't really apply to this factory rack even though it is also a Yakima.
