Default El Toro Pro Thread - 3/28 to 3/29

Hey Chike and Scooby South,

Where's ma thread!!

Anyway, after Saturday, Annie is leading L2 by about 0.5 sec and Richard Jung is ahead of me by 0.5 in STU.

Full results are not up yet as the last group did not finish due to darkness.

Richard is flying - not sure I can catch him tomorrow. We'll see

Throw me under the bus Bill?!

I've been busy with the family these last few days. Looks like Max launched a come back and just came up short. Not to take anything away from Rick - congrats on the win!

I think we are all playing a wait and see game to see how the tire wars play out. At the moment, the Dunlop is a cheap, safe and fast choice.

I gave Richard a bit of a run today, but both Annie and I were struggling with front end grip. Not taking anything away from Richard though, he drove great and has owned the ET Pro the last three years.

Wiggy ran Bridgestone's last week and Kuhmo's this week. I think he just runs whatever tire whose truck happens to be at the event so he can park under their awning

Wiggy also broke a motor mount on his last runs on Saturday, and did really well to get the car fixed and back running this morning.

On to Wendover next month - hopefully I can get revenge on Richard

Congrats guys! Some Subies in the trophies, nice work.

Don't worry Max, us East Coasters will take the fall and do all the tire testing for you.

Doh....

So far...

Bridgestone Re-011 = 3 wins (STU/ST/STS Dixie Tour)
Toyo = 4 wins (STS San Diego tour,) (All 3 Street Tire classes EL Toro Pro)
Dunlop = 2 wins (STU/STX San Diego Tour)

Interesting...

Hey, Dunlop won STU at the ET Pro.

There are 4 ST classes... ST, STS, STX and STU.

Are you having a senior moment, Bill?

Interesting...
Fixed that for you. STU at El Toro was won by Dunlop. Also ST was won by Toyo at Dixie. And there are 4 Street Tire classes. A few other missing classes/events as well. I think I got it all updated now. Four classes times 3 events equals 12 results. Got it.

Edit: I see someone beat me to it.

Interesting...This will be an interesting tidbit to track come nationals time...unless some other OMG tire shows up...
The other notes...Kuhmo has some 2nds and 3rds...so they aren't to far off the pace...

If an OMG tire is going to show up....it better get here before 4-31-09 or it'll be next years tire. (there are variables to that statement, which veteran autocrossers will know of).

Should we ask ST/STS if there is such a tire? I think I know the answer !

Thanks Max, I left the door open 3rd session, with one more run you could have won it. You did get more Super Challenge points.

I think you're right about Wiggy and the tire semi- trucks. He forgot it was his birthday yesterday. Happy 42nd Wigg !

To Mind,
I haven't seen evidence that Bridgestones are as good as Dunlops. Most of us on the West coast tried the RE-01 and didn't like the feel and how they performed on our relatively heavy cars.

No my car is on RE-11s... Dave OMalley's civic (the ex Wagner mobile) and the Smith mobile are on Toyos.

Edit: Also keep in mind (atleast at dixie) very few cars were on the RE-11s, in ST I believe my car was the only one. Most people on bstones were still running RE01rs.

If my car was in that picture, it would be getting blown up and framed in short order. Great pic!
