I am digging up this old post, just purchased a 2009 OB SE from David N
(works with Joe in the internet side) at Carter Subaru and everything went awesome. Dunno but Dan the finance guy was awesome as well, he gave me the lowdown fast and explained all the warranties available.

I was looking at suby's back for several years and finally jumped on Carter and very please with their sales and finance teams. So 2 thumbs up and I also will back carter with my business.

I purchased a new 2009 Impreza WRX STi from Joe Spitz at Carter Subaru and it was a smooth low pressure experience. Travis handled the paper work and did a good job.

They will be getting my future business.

I had a terrible experience with carter subaru! In 2003 i bought a brand new legacy outback wagon. the car is a lemon! it now has approx 85,000 miles on it and the head gasket has gone out twice- which i have never had happen once let alone twice!- the computer system crashed and had to be replaced. the mechanics at carter have made mistakes when servicing my car and carter has refused fix the mistakes / reimburse me for having the mistakes fixed elsewhere. Stay away from carter subaru. they sell defective products, employ mechanics that dont know how to repair subarus, and the customer service is the worst. one thing carter subaru did was lose a life long fan and loyal subaru customer. my advice is to avoid carter subaru like the plague, you will be better off for it.

+1 Thumbs up for Carter. My routine service there has been no problem, and they gave me a free loaner for the day to boot!

Ordered a 2010 WRX hatchback from Joe Spitz at Carter.. He gave the lowest price in the area. No pressure sales approach.. if you know what you want and you want it at the most competitive price. Go see Joe at Carter. He'll hook you up. Ordered my car 11/3/2009 and picked up on 11/24/2009. Awesome sauce.

I had a great experience at Carter when I bought my 2005 WRX. Eastside for my 2006 WRX not so much. =[

I think some of these praise posts for Carter Subaru are coming from Internet Sales Manager David North under different names. He's doing it over at SubaruOutback forums as well.

I'll never shop Carter Subaru because they managed to talk down to me before I even stopped in.

When I input my information I put a real email but preferred not to disclose my phone number or name on their "Car Finder" feature.

It did not return search results but instead entered me into their contact database. Not a big deal until...

No Name.....No Quote!

David North
Fleet/Internet Sales Manager
Carter Subaru (in Shoreline, Seattle)
425-753-9294

Mildly amused at this guy's smarmy tone, I responded:

Dumb website that signs me up for spam instead of returning search results when I input information, no business!

I figured that would be the end of it.

UNTIL...

Serves you right.......use your real name for real results....

I would totally have considered this dealership as a source for my next car, lack of search results notwithstanding, until the sales rep decided to lecture me about the horrible offense of not dumping all my personal information into a nameless faceless database for his sales contact convenience.

With this type of anti-customer service attitude, where the internet sales manager is put out that I didn't follow their process EXACTLY right rather than treating me politely as a potential customer I wouldn't even consider walking through the door.

I would never recommend Carter to anyone! I went here looking while searching for my first Subaru and brought along a friend who knows them very well. They tried to sell me an STi sitting front and center....which also had a flat tire and its wheels on backwards!

The salespeople at Chaplins were MUCH nicer!

^^^ +1

carter was incredibly rude to me also! they pretty much ensured that i, and anyone i ever talk to, will never go to carter.

even eastside wasn't that bad to me -- eastside was sleazy, but never rude.

chaplin's salespeople are almost disturbingly laid back.

You're going to have to elaborate... Most of the reviews here are positive and all you said is that they were rude. We don't know if you're partly at fault for that.
