Default Houston Coffee & Cars

Hey guys,

I'm out here at Coffee & Cars at Vintage Park. I see a lot of organization with a lot of the car clubs, but I don't see any organization with the Subarus. We have such a big group here in Houston that we should be rocking this meet. Let me know if you guys want to organize something for next month!

I was there and only saw a handful of Subarus. I parked across the street because my car was dirty and not in a good state to be seen! It would be pretty cool to be able to coordinate meeting at C & C so maybe you can bump this thread next time and see who all is going.

That's because Subarus aren't special at all. Neither are Any Dodge, Ferarrai or Porsche.

What's your problem? If you're not a fan of Subaru, WTF are you doing here?

Because I own a Subaru, which is common as ****. If you can show up to Coffee & Cars in a pristine GL10 or SVX, then you have something.

No offense but I don't go to C&C to see a bunch of Subarus. I have several sitting in my driveway. I go to C&C to check out some cars I hardly ever get to see in person, let alone ever have a chance to own....not a bunch of riced out econoboxes.

I think Subarus are pretty special cars, if you don't feel the same way keep it to yourself. The truth is Cars & Coffee has turned into a meet of all makes and models, to enjoy the joy of owning, driving, and tuning all types of vehicles whether they cost $1000 or $1 million. I saw a big turnout from the Mazda Club, the Fiat Club, the FR-Ss, and of course the Domestics. Why shouldn't we have a big gathering as well?

And people go to Cars and Coffee to appreciate the work of their fellow man on what ever car he may own.

Take your finest work out there and watch. You will get praise from many of the attendees. Because Subarus are special.

I would be down for maybe a little Subaru organization. I'd love to come to out to C&C, especially since I'll be new to the area soon. Relocating there for work at the beginning of the year from 1400 miles north

I'd rather go to be around people who enjoy being around cars, whether they can afford 10 super cars or barely afford some 99 Civic Si.

Sorry, I just don't see anything special in something that you can drive off a lot, throw some angel eyes and some 20s on and call it "special". What it ends up doing is "pushing out" the cars that should be seen and appreciated.

Things I consider "special" (all from Houston Coffee & Cars):

Never did I say the civic was special. The guy does, however, probably enjoys being around cars. You dont have to stare at it for it to be at place.

I really object to the entire lineup of identically prepared (new) challengers and chargers above all.

edit: And seeing a 72 Carrera RS in the parking lot and not part of the show.

he's got his opinion, you've got yours. cars and coffee is inclusive of everything, that's what matters, so drive your car out there and show it off proudly, organize all the subarus to get there at the same time and park in the same section.

don't expect everyone to be receptive of it though, and don't expect them to not say anything either. if you want to be a part of a group of completely like minded people where no one ever disagrees with your ideas, go make your own forum and only invite people you want to.

Your best bet at starting a cohesive group for this is to organize for the toy drive they're doing this coming month:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ight=toy+drive

my recommendation though: PM the people who organize some of the meets around Houston to try and get something organized. Don't just start a thread saying "this should be done" get on the stick and get it done.

I didn't start this thread to say it should get done. I started it as a call out to the people who are interested in the organization of Subarus. And it's working. I am making a list of members to get a hold of when the time comes.

Then perhaps you should update your first post to reflect that, this post is the only one that shows you're doing any organizing at all to lead the effort.

I guarantee you that you will get more people reaching out to you, if you make it known that you are taking a lead on this, rather than the current wording which just indicates that it should be done.

Don't take it as me trying to call poopoo on this idea (cause I'm sure others are interested in having a unified subaru presence), I'm just offering suggestions to make your success greater.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Nonetheless, there are people like me, who love our subies and think that our cars are special and worth our time.
Organizing a subie meet at C&C sounds like an awesome idea. I would def come if we set something up

I was out there with my 7 year old son. I went with the encouragement of a friend with a Boss 302 who attends because of the local Mustang club.

It was very wet and cold. There still were 6-8 WRX /STI out there. I still had a good time. Maybe next month the weather will cooperate.

Nice to meet up again with some Subaru owners again. I knew someone took a panoramic pictures of all the cars. Who has the picture?
