Default ATTN: Cerritos Suby Owners... Possible Thieves

Last night around 3:30am I had just gotten home. As I was walking towards my house, I noticed a car coming down the street, a mid 90's, black, 7/5series BMW, w/ chrome 19in rims, from the main road. The car passed my house, and made a u-turn. I live at T intersection stop sign. It then parked behind my car, an 02 WRX. The driver, a male about 5'11", medium build w/ a brown complexion, got out of his car approached my front passenger side window and peered in using his cell phone for light. He then went to the rear passenger window and did the same thing, almost like he was looking for something to take. He then went back to the front passenger window, then appeared to have gotten startled and went back to his car. On his way back to his car he kinda stumbled down the curb bumping my car. That set off the pre-alarm on my car. He then jumped in his car and drove off...

I was like WuhTHeF was that about. At first i didnt think much of it, cause people usualy look at my car. So I went to my car to check it out, and found a 16" long gash on the top of my trunk that went all the way down to the metal. The gash looked like it was made by a screwdriver. Assuming it was a screwdriver, and it being 3 in the morning, im assuming he was gonna steal something from my car or steal my car in whole. So just to let you guys know, if you see this car and a person with a matching description, keep an eye out for your car.

*What to watch for:
CAR: a mid 90's, black, 7/5series BMW, w/ chrome 18/19in rims *edited for consistency thanks to SASHIN
Driver: male about 5'11", medium build w/ a brown complexion

ReX-N - do you live near Whitney High? Is so, cars get broken into there all the time. Especially if you park on the street.

^^ In la mirada now... right accross the street from in and out. yaaaaay

anyway back to the point, a guy in a bimmer?? no offense though, but it sounds like they were kids... real thiefs woulda stole something, not just vandalize.

sidenote: how did you know he had 19" wheels not 18", i had a bimmer b4 my suby and had 19'nes on it. everyone thought they were 18"'s.

I think he was scoping out my car to see if there was anything take... Hence the reason why he kept going from the front window to the back with his cell phone for light... I dont have anything of value in the interior of my car, just sparco seats (I'd like to see someone steal those in less than 3mins)...

I dont think he intentionaly vandalized my car. Like I said, he kinda stumbled of the curb and supported himself with what was in his hand against my car, which apparently was a screwdriver...

I don't know that they were 19's, i just made a presumption based on the ratio of the overall size of the car vs. the size of the rims...

I live just on the other side of Cerritos, but in the OC. I never had any problems. Maybe because you live in L.A. county...

man, i've had my share of ***** from cerritos! every car i had was messed with. you mentioned the cell phone lighting.. i think it was the same f*cks that tried to steal my stock wheels off my old 03 Civic Si. they jammed after my alarm finally went off. then they came back 2 nights later and broke into my pops civic just to vandalize *****... prior to that, my 91 nissan SE-R, where they jabbed a screwdriver into my passenger side door to get in, possibly to take the car. then prior to that, my old 94 trd 4X2 truck. rear lights took, bbgun shot thru my back window. all in front of my house too! but w/ the 03 Si, luckily a neighbor was out in his front porch smoking a cig and caught the incident in action. called popo and gave them all the info he saw. cerritos looks safe, but many "jacks" go down all the time. and the police are dicks also! they love pulilng over anything w/ an exhauast and lowered! almost feels like you cant trust anybody, cuz everybody is out to take something. i've lived in cerritos for over 20 years and it seems like kids are getting more bolder to jack rides n stuff. karma is a b!tch.. and they gonna get theirs no doubt!

been there and done that... I've lived all over OC and LA counties. I actually grew up in Cerritos. Now that I'm 30+, I'm fortunate to be able to purchase a house in a neighboring city to Cerritos.

Maybe you should move to Santa Ana, but then again you live in Duarte

Just a FYI, if there are 2 of them they can have your factory alarm shut off in under 10 sec, by a quick slim jim in the door, pop the hood and cut the power. Then they have all the time they need to pop your seats.. As I found out the other night when the snagged my stereo. *this in Salt Lake City Ut. *
Thieves are every where not just certain neighborhoods.

Yeah I grew up in Cerritos and it's effing nice compared to it's neighboring cities. I think the only reason that it's nice is because the cops are dicks and do their jobs, then again buena park cops are also dicks and that place is pretty gnarly.
