Default Stage 1+ with EBCS???

Hello guys. I have 17 STI and have Cobb stage 1+. This is far as I go since I only use it daily so I wanted to get the protune and have reliable map. I called the local tuner (Yimi sports) out here in Los Angeles and he recommended getting EBCS. I said Ok and they will install EBCS and protune it after but I just wanted to ask "Is EBCS necessary?" I tried to search it but I only found tons of topics on EBCS with stage 2+ lol... Seems like no1 is getting EBCS with stage 1. I know it helps with faster spool and control boost better but is it even necessary on stage 1+? Does anyone have a similar setup as me? Stage 1+ with EBCS and protune? Thanks a lot, guys.

Its not strictly necessary but it, as you said, helps your tuner control boost more accurately. And it's only ~$125 and install is SO easy its a no-brainer when getting a protune.
