Default Building motor, bigger than 100mm pistons? + where to get o-rings

My current stage 3 Raw/Axis block is being rebuilt due to oil consumption. Machine shop say the hone was far too aggressive and prematurely wore the pistons and rings. Problem is the bore was already 100mm.

Are there 100.5mm or 101mm pistons readily available?

Ive already got head gaskets, and an oil pickup. I need to get intake mani gaskets. Any other gaskets I will need?

Also, where should I get an o-ring kit? the dealer/subarugenuineparts?

I just found this full kit, but I dont need the headgaskets...

Also, do you need a different sice gasket for a 100mm or 101mm bore? or will stock gaskets work?

Who's building your block? Ask them what gaskets you need as we don't know the condition of your motor. If you want to be safe just but a complete gasket kit from flatironstuning.com or at the dealership...it's up to you. Goodluck with the build.

Get the full gasket kit for the year of your block and the shop would use what they need. As far as bigger head gaskets, you can probably ask Josh at import image.

yeah, i am pming him now

But gasket-wise, I already have header gaskets, up-pipe gaskets, head gaskets, etc. I hate to buy a $279 kit when I need about half of it.

and I am talking to Josh about what to do now. I was just looking for input.

Can you just hone the block again and get away with using the same pistons with new rings? I know Wisceo pistons makes some fairly large bore pistons. and if they dont have them on the shelf they will make whatever size you want. I had a customer that was in the same situation. Im fairly sure we ended up getting him 101mm pistons.

And also standard Cosworth Head Gaskets cover up to 101mm.

the machine shop said they would like to go bigger if possible.

Josh said he can get custom CP pistons for more money, but 3-5 weeks wait

I called the machine shop, and they said no, they would just stick with the 100mm bores, lightly machine it and re-hone it, so I guess I will stick with 100mm.

I went with the OEM headgasket, anyone see any big issue with this?

setups is 440 wheel hp, 26 psi, meth injection, garrett gt3076r.

I wasn't aware that the gasket that was on the raw block was cosworth.

Can you define "far too agressive" ? Was the piston to wall clearance low ?

Honestly I wouldn't consider going any further than 100mm if you plan on making more power. The more you take out of the bore, the weaker the liners will be.

Pm max (remotehuman) he works in the parts dept. At planet Subaru in Hanover, I'm sure he can help you figure out exactly what you need. Or you could come out to the Boston meet tonight in Braintree at UNO, he will be there.

Raw Block probably didnt use Cosworth gaskets, just letting you know the gasket bore size of the cosworth ones if you wanted to use them. Stockers are probably the same I would think...

Im not sure how else I can describe the hone, I am not a machinist. According to them, it was honed too aggressivly and never broke in properly and wore out the pistons and rings prematurely. I saw the cyl walls myself, and the hone marks were still quite deep after 30k miles, compared to my stock block that had 70k miles on it.

We are sticking with 100mm now. i found a thread where someone tried boring out a block more and around 103mm they started breaking through the liner.

I am suprised that the raw block started at 100mm.
